Face it, after he knocked off my favorite character in the whole series, Severus Snape cannot be forgiven. To me, that traitor is worse than Voldemort! This is a thread for everyone to express their intense anger with Snape or to just discuss the events surrounding the murder of Dumbledore. If you are of the opinion that Dumbledore is still alive, despite J.K. Rowling's statements, please do not post about that. If you think that Snape is still somehow working for the good guys, go ahead and make your point.

Aw, guys, I love Snape. He's my favorite professor, and I really think that he's on the good side. And even if he isn't, I'd still think that he's awesome.

That basically sums up what I wanted to say. I didn't hate Dumbledore, but I wasn't overly fond of him. He's just...there. I was sad when he died, though. Edit: Erik, I love that song!

I still believe in the possibility of Snape's goodness. I started a topic to debate the idea last year. You can read my opinions/reasons here: asoue.proboards11.com/index.cgi?board=magic&action=display&thread=1122171495 Unfortunately, the link to the Entertainment Weekly article (mentioned in the first post) no longer works. I'd like to make it clear, though, that I do not hold the opinion that Dumbledore is still alive.

Snape's EVIL. Guiltier than sin as Esme said in tpp. May he die a horrible painful death. Yeah I hate him more than Voldemort. I have some sympathy for Voldemort. Not so for Snape.

Oh, come on. He just only killed Dumbledor. I think the reason that I don't hate him is because I like him as a bad guy, and because I didn't care much for Dumbledor. I wasn't his biggest fan, I didn't shead tears or anything when he died.

Guy's a bloody trator full of hate and darkness for no conceivable reason. His mother seemed to be a talented wizard so it's not like he was forced to live among muggles that didn't understand him like Voldemort or Harry. He seemed pretty gifted too, but he was obsessed with the dark arts for no reason and this is what made him so unpopular. It's his own fault, he's a tyrant. He killed the man who gave him everything, kept him from the dementors, and went against his own friends to support him. Dumbledore gave him nothing but good and Snape gave him nothing but death.

Of course Snape has motivation for his actions! He was bullied and humiliated by James Potter and his snotty friends. That's a powerful force in a child's/teen's life, as the events at Columbine will attest.
There's more to Snape than unmotivated, irrational evil, and I think we'll find out in the next book why Dumbledore had such faith in him.

I love Snape. I'm pretty sure he's an evil dirtbag, but I'm willing to look past it because without him I would never read the books.

Aww, guys, don't be so harsh. I love Snape. My heart was absolutely torn to pieces and flung repeatedly against a wall of spiky metal protrusions when he killed Dumbkins. But I still love him.

Dumbledore was great. He had several good lines (arguably, the only good lines) and witticisms and insghtful thoughts. The books would have been pretty lacking without him.
That said, I like Snape. Evil makes me happy.

Evil in a book is necessary, to create conflict - whether the evil is a force from outside the protagonist or a force within. Without it, the plot would be dull, dull, dull! Even more exciting is an perceived evil that turns out to be otherwise. That's what I'm betting on for Snape.
