I used to believe he was evil but now I'm leaning toward the "he's good" camp. Really? Wow. I never thought that would happen!

Think about it. If Snape were evil do you think he'd have left Harry to live as he fled Hogwarts? He'd have killed Harry and risked Voldemort's ire in exchange for knowing the only threat to his power had been eliminated. Crouch Jr. showed no hesitation in trying to kill Harry. What other reasonable explanation is there for why Snape's hand twitched during the unbreakable vow? Why was Snape so upset when Harry saw the Dept. of Mysteries during Occlumency? He was more upset about that than when Harry used a shielding charm and saw his own memories. If Snape were evil he wouldn't have left the pensieve right out for Harry to find, because he would've stored certain death eater memories in there. If Snape's evil why'd he notify the Order that Harry was on his way to the Dept of mysteries in ootp? Ditto for why he saved Dumbledore in the beginning of book 6. And if he's evil why's he giving Harry advice of all things at the end of book 6? Yeah he's incredibly unpleasant and hasn't got sufficient control of his mind to let go of his hatred for Moony wormtail padfoot and prongs but nevertheless he seems to remain on the good side. Think about it, if Snape's not on the good side Harry, a relatively inexperienced wizard, is up against the two most powerful wizards in the world. But if Snape's good Harry's love and snape's raw power can combine to fight Voldemort. It's also Mugglenet's opinion that Dumbledore once forced snape to make an unbreakable vow and that this is his ironclad reason for trusting him. Oh and the "Didn't want to do it anymore" argument Hagrid overheard in book 6? How does that even make sense if Snape is a death eater? The only assumption we can make is that Snape didn't want to spy anymore, wanted to stick with Dumbledore and declare his true colors. If he were a death eater why would he refuse the opportunity Dumbledore gave him to continue to associate with them? I'm done.

Theres way more evidence to believe that Snape is evil then McGonogall at this point in time. I admit that would be really sneaky and twisty but just because theres some possible evidence i dont think shes a spy. Shes only the most awesome female witch in the books. I really don't think anyone will accept my reason that she kicks too much ass to be evil but thats how I feel about it. And though it would be shocking I'd be more disapointed overall because shes a great character as she is now.
