I saw that too. If she's writing a detective novel, one can only expect a great book.

I hope so. Harry Potter did have some elements of the genre. She obviously knows how to set up red herrings and clues, and to hint at characters' motives without revealing everything. I'm a bit concerned about her last-minute use of convenient plot devices, though (specific example, the wand-lore of Deathly Hallows.)

I remember her saying a long time ago that she wanted to write a crime/detective novel; I guess she's starting it already. XD She has plenty of mystery in Harry Potter, so let's hope she gives us another masterpiece. ^_^ Can't wait.

It's probably going to be good, but I can't see it being as successful as HP. It'll probably sell loads, though, because of her reputation. I wonder if it's supposed to be an adult book?

Apparently, JKR and her agents and stuff have not yet confirmed if it is indeed a crime novel, or if she has started planning/writing anything already....Might still be a rumor.

She said repeatedly that she desires to continue writing and I'm sure her books will be amazing, but I'm equally sure she'll never match the old glory of HP.

I thought that was weird if its untrue. She said she would rest before writing the HP Encyclopedia, if she does. Why would she go into writing a crime novel before writing HP?

Ian Rankin has said that it was a joke which some one just took to seriously. So no, i doubt she is writing a detective novel, but if she is working on something, i guess its the encyclopedia.

Mm, I hadn't thought about that. But after the encyclopedia she'll definitely be at it again.

She has said that she wants to take a vacation, and lay back a bit from writing seriously, although she'll never properly stop writing.

And besides, I doubt this book would come out soon, even if it was real: she seems to take her time a bit, and make sure that everything as good as she can possibly make it.
