It was a joke about the slippery slope clue, you know 2 will disappear and never be seen again (because it said that you'll die slipped on ice)

The greeting cards mentioned earlier in this thread are, I think, a set of small notecards in a tin box which were available from Barnes & Noble stores around 2 years ago. I know that the game, 8 ball, and a t shirt are available from both Barnes & Noble and Borders stores, but I haven't seen them in the online stores of these chains. The "misfortune telling cards" were a promotional item sent to bookstores with the Carniverous Carnival. The 3" "Don't Ask Me About Lemony Snicket" buttons were sent out with TCC as well, but now there is a 1" version of those buttons, as well as 5 other designs that was sent out with TSS. For the Hostile Hospital, some of the in store promo items included temporary tattoos (of Olaf, the original eye, the VFD logo, and another illustration from the book) and a SOUE band aid dispenser (the dispenser had an illustration, the band aids were just normal band aids). There was also a set of postcards. The thing about these sort of promo items, however, is that they usually get snapped up by the bookstore employees before they ever make it to the general public. Okay, I'll shut up now.

Promos I've run across (including those mentioned by the previous poster)
-Reflective Lemony Snicket Day wristband from 2002
-Please don't ask me about Lemony Snicket buttons of various sizes
-Stop Snicket buttons of various sizes
-Olaf button
-Lemony snicket logo button
-Lemony snicket party kit, including a few rubber stamps, notepads, and other materials
-Band Aid dispenser
-Misfortune Cards
-Greeting cards in a tin from Barnes&Noble
-Lemony Snicket autobiography postcards
-Olaf disguises refrigerator magnets
-Unfortunate poetry refrigerator magnets
-The temporary tattoos
-"This is not a bedroom, it's a linen closet" door hanger
-"Baudelaire Free Book" (book 0), which is just a dust jacket that unfolds to be the "Have you seen this man" Olaf poster.
That's all I can recall of the top of my head. Best bet to find them...make friends with someone who works in a bookstore because yes, they're mostly taken home by employees.

The band-aid dispenser isn't that thrilling. It's white plastic, about the size of a small stack of band-aids, with The Hostile Hospital logo and some promotional text printed on it. My favorite item by far is the set of Misfortune Cards, followed by the refrigerator magnets.
