Hmmm...but what if you're walking out of a house?

Walking out of a house. Backwards. The person who is apparently walking into a house isn't because he's walking backwards out of it.

A piece of wood or a cloak would leave a trail, I bet.
You'd turn it off by way of a switch like you would a fan.
The people who actually track people, wouldn't be fooled by walking backwards....The ball of your foot would be the deeper area, instead of the heel when you walk normally.

A piece of wood or a cloak would leave a trail, I bet. So would your invention. It says that your invention "stirs up snow or sand while you walk"--very rarely will you see an area where the snow is ALL STIRRED, so if the rest of it is flat, you can tell where someone with your invention has walked anyway. You'd need a lot of power to stir up packed snow unless it's very dry and light, anyway. Same deal with sand, especially a beach because the water packs it down (and if you were walking along a beach the waves would wash away your footprints).

Yeah, mine probably would leave a trail, too, but that's what I'm working on.

I think you should use the fan idea. remember using sweat as a fuel thing? Erm, you can figure out how sweat could be a fuel.
You know, you could just attach a hand-fan upsside down on your she. It would blow the snow away AND be cheap.
Remember when Rayanne brought those red shoes of her's to school and wore them and we al felt them? And then you found out that it was leather?
