They should call The first movie "The Trouble Begins" then, "The Situation Worsens," and so on.

I think she means that what if they decide to make THH a movie all by itself, because it's long, and than what would they do.
Does that make sense?

Yeah. It makes sence to me. And I don't know what they'd do either. Maybe they'd just shorten the story a bit and put it together with TVV. Or maybe it's just the first 3 they're putting together because they're shorter than the other books.

Why shorten it?

So they can put it together with TVV. Movie producers always do stupid things like that.

Yeah. Like how they shortened the Harry Potter movie by taking out parts and changing certain parts of the story.
TERRIBLE THOUGHT: WHAT IF THEY DO THAT TO THE ASOUE MOVIE?!

Well, you've gotta understand that most people who haven't read the books don't want to sit there for 3 hours. I've had the experience. I think that the people who have read the books and liked them are the only people willing to sit in a theatre for a long time. But still, I hope that this movie has a lot of fidelity to the books!

Yeah. Like how they shortened the Harry Potter movie by taking out parts and changing certain parts of the story. TERRIBLE THOUGHT: WHAT IF THEY DO THAT TO THE ASOUE MOVIE?!Well, certainly some things will change...because with a movie, there are certain things that DON'T WORK onscreen that work in a novel... so there will be changes... also though, consider that J.K. Rowling did NOT write the Harry Potter movies... They were adapted by Steve Cloves, so changes were made so it could work as a movie, despite what Rowling may have thought... And Daniel Handler is writing the Lemony Snicket script himself, so if he sees fit to change something, I'm sure it will be for the best...heck, the author should know what works and what doesn't...shouldn't he?? I trust DH and think the movie will be fine. MATT
