We all know that ATWQ focuses on LS's early teenage years, so my theory is that the picture pertains to some sort of pursuit, whether it's a car chase or a slow one.

The movement lines and the fact that the taxi is drawn with its wheels not touching the ground clearly indicates motion, perhaps rapid motion. As a motif, taxis and taxis being followed and taxis following also links back to TPP. Of course, one point to consider is that, in a taxi, don't you always sit in the back? Which is why the taxi may be something seen out of the back window of a car it is pursuing.
Edit: Just pointing out something that people may wish to be aware of: I'm signed up to LSATWQ with two e-mail addresses, and one of them hasn't received this e-mail, and didn't receive the e-mail before last, either.

I've received the email; did you sign the two accounts up at the same time or was one later than the other?

I've received the email; did you sign the two accounts up at the same time or was one later than the other? Same time. I just checked, and it's "How can we stop him?" and this one that my home e-mail account never received. So it's not like that address has suddenly dropped off the list, there is actual inconsistency occurring. It's not a problem for me, since I'm getting them all on my other account - but it could be a problem for other people, and it's certainly odd.

Another question to consider is, is the taxi the escapee, the pursuer, or both?
As for the e-mails: That is quite odd. If there are other reported instances, we'll know it's a bigger problem rather than just a glitch ... although two glitches directed at the same person is still very unusual. Perhaps it's the fact two e-mails are registered under the same IP address causing the issue in the first place?

The driver could be connected to the taxi driver from The Penultimate Peril. I was just about to start a discussion thread on this e-mail when I found out that you already did, Dante.

That's what I was about to say. It's popular to think and that that driver was Lemony, and the fact that this is specifically a taxi rather than a normal car might give us the oppurtunity to draw parallels.

It's popular to think and that that driver was Lemony, and the fact that this is specifically a taxi rather than a normal car might give us the opportunity to draw parallels. Me too. I think it's strange that the picture is specifically a taxi, rather than just a car, as the text doesn't specify. Plus, in my experience, most people sit in the back seats of taxis, children or otherwise. Just randomly, I was thinking that the text (subject line included) might make an amusing sign to hang on the rearview.

The use of taxis is definitely intended to parallel TPP, and it's the suitability of that parallel that tells us that the taxi wasn't just randomly chosen for a vehicle to draw, it's probably in the text. As to whether the narrator is inside it, or watching it pursue someone, I don't think it's possible to say at the moment, but I do think it being the pursuing vehicle is somewhat more possible due to the fact that children wouldn't have a choice about where to sit in a taxi, they'd have to be in the back seat anyway. There's also a certain ambiguity about a pursuing taxi: Is it the driver who is making the pursuit, or are they only doing so on the orders of their passenger? As for the e-mails: That is quite odd. If there are other reported instances, we'll know it's a bigger problem rather than just a glitch ... although two glitches directed at the same person is still very unusual. Perhaps it's the fact two e-mails are registered under the same IP address causing the issue in the first place? I think it's unlikely to be an IP thing; I'm not sure why that would matter. I think there's maybe a probability that my home e-mails have some kind of overzealous blocking system that occasionally catches them. Ironic, since I signed up my home e-mail as a failsafe in case this sort of thing happened to my personal e-mail address.

Another update! All that I've got to say has been said by the posters above me. I'll just like to add - there are 26 (twice 13) words in the text of this promo. So does "Just a cover until October 23rd?". There's 13 words in the When Will The Bell Ring promo, but the rest of the promotions don't seem to have the 13 motif, with the exception of 804.1. It doesn't lead anywhere, I just thought it might be interesting to share. Edit: As for the email problem - maybe it's the email site playing up on certain days, or something. If the LSATWQ promotions were being blocked, they would all be blocked, I think, not just two.

I hadn't thought of looking at the word counts; sharp idea, Kensicle. But if it's not consistently at thirteen, I think I agree with you that it probably doesn't signify anything. That's not to say it wasn't worth checking, though.

The next email we receive from Hachette with also be the thirteenth, if I'm not mistaken (counting the cover and "drop everything" of course).

How come I'm not receiving anything? ( Have you entered your e-mail address at LSATWQ.com? And did you do so before or after yesterday's e-mail was posted? They can't send you anything if they don't know your address, and they won't send you repeats of what everyone else has already had (Brunch attests otherwise on the following page).
