Quagmire story, hope you like. It's short, though. Shorter'n most of my stuff. FYI, the title comes from a Beatmania song which is way too happy and doesn't fit with this AT ALL.

“What do you want to do, Isadora?”
Isadora Quagmire looked at her brother with sad eyes that pierced through the moist darkness. “I want to become a world famous writer...of fantasy, I think. Or maybe I could write our memoirs,” she whispered. “I bet they’d sell well.” She gave Duncan a small smile. “What do you want to do?”
Duncan Quagmire swept some hair out of his face and tucked it behind his ears. “I’m going to become a journalist for the Daily Punctilio. The best one they have. One who actually tells the truth.” He gave his sister a comforting pat. “And I could help you with the memoirs. We’d be great together.”
“I want to travel with Klaus and Violet and Sunny...” Isadora murmured. “They’re such good friends, Duncan. We’ll have so much fun...”
“I want to bring Count Olaf to justice. Then he’ll stop doing horrible things.”
“And after that?”
“Well, I wouldn’t mind traveling with you. I want to see everything...”
The two triplets sat together in the midst of their tiny, confined world, looking up at the one thin shaft of light that streamed in. The metal against their backs was so cold, and the puddle of water they both sat in didn’t do much good either. They’d lost track of time in their prison, only knowing whether it was day or night by the color of the fragile ribbon that hung in front of them.
The light was crystalline silver, marking the midst of yet another cold and lonely night.
“Duncan...”
“Yes, Isadora?”
Isadora looked as if she was on the verge of tears, and she tenderly cradled her notebook to her chest, taking care that it wouldn’t get a drop of water on it. “I just want to survive...”
Duncan held his sister close to him, hearing her stifled sobs. As he felt Isadora’s sobbing breaths forced out of her body and her heavy heartbeat, he closed his eyes and began to cry with her. He felt the tears burn his cold skin, as a terrible man had burned away the triplets’ lives, their friends, and their family.
There was nothing else to be done, and their sadness lulled them into a lightless sleep...
