There. That's an article with an interview of Lemony Snicket
I'm sure u've all read it, but so far I haven't seen any discussion about it.
So here goes:
My absolute favorite book is called The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily. I liked that it tells a story of noble people trying to retain their nobility in the face of corruption. Actually, I guess I shouldn’t say people. I should say individuals, being as they’re bears. Also, it contains a sea serpent, which always makes a story more interesting.
I myelf find the part about the sea serpent interesting, cos it might be hinting at the ? creature in TGG. I mean
why else would he brin it up?
TFK: Will we learn who Beatrice is in The Grim Grotto?
Lemony Snicket: Well, I hope that no one reads The Grim Grotto, so I hope that no one will learn any of the secrets the book contains.
These secrets might be the fact that Beatrice and the
baudmom are the same people. (woe is me)
TFK: Will you continue to write about the Baudelaire children even after the 13th book?
Lemony Snicket: My early research indicates that the 13th book is the end of the Baudelaire children’s tale, but I could not possibly comment on that until my research is complete
This is interesting. VERY INTERESTING. It COULD be a
red herring, or it could be hinting at more books (yay)
I don't think i'll mention Herman Melville's the Confidence man, cos you all know about that
