Have you guys noticed that starting with The Hostile Hospital, Snicket's been ending the books with cliffhangers??? Damn. I kinda hate that. Now, I'll be going crazy waiting for The Slippery Slope. Oh well, good thing The Order of the Phoenix will keep me distracted. LOL. Say, do you guys think Kevin, Hugo and Collette will realize they're wrong and become good guys again???

Hum, you know, I sort of doubt that they will end up good. the three of them seem so eager to please olaf... And plus, I was reading somewhere (and I can't rember where ) about this theory that they were ALWAYS with Olaf, right from the beginning, which has kind of got me convinced. Firstly, in TBB, it doesn't describe ALL of olaf's henchpeople. There were a bunch more in the background. The problem with this though, is that the Bauds served them all, and so you'd think they'd recognize them later (though, you never know, they probably were'nt paying a lot of attention to the henchpeople, so...). Of course, it's highly possible they were in disguise at the carnival. And even if they weren't, they could still be olaf's henchpeople. After all, wouldn't it be favorable to olaf if he had people to do his bidding spread all over? Hum...

Same with TCC. I don't really think TSS is a cliff hanger though...

cliffhangers are cool, though. I mean, they do get you to read the next book. And they could lead you into a train of thought. but I am still hanging, which does get pretty annoying, because I haven't read TSS.

What happened in the end of TEE? Oh, yeah, that wasn't much of a cliffhanger. Or TAA. Think about THH and TCC. They could've died in both situations. In the books before that, Mr. Poe was already there, and Olaf escaped, they weren't really in danger anymore. Not in the kind of danger like in the end of TCC or TSS...or THH. I hope Duncan and Isadora come back though...

The cliffhanger endings of TAA and TEE threatened the Quagmires rather than the Baudelaires. Weren't you worried for the Bauds' friends in Count Olaf's clutches?

Yes, I just realized that. ;D I hope Handler doesn't kill them off as well. They're alot of people's (including my) favorite characters. Then there's that whole Duncan vs. Quigley conspiracy... Anyway, I think the Quagmires are important to the story. Didn't the books get more interesting after TAA? Because the Quagmires were in them? And the Baudelaires had to worry about something else than themselves, their con-cheeted selves. As you can tell, I'm not very fond of the Baudelaires...
