I've tried before. It's just so hard. It could make anything really.

Maybe car, tot, ax was the way Violet died. I have a vague impression of Violet being run over by a car and a small kid holding a hatchet to finish the job.

That's a bizarre mental image. However, when I saw "tot" I thought of Sunny, as if she and Violet will both die. But the anagram also contains "I may lie", and it may be totally invalid.

In my opinion, it's a lie. Handler's written himself into a corner with Violet and Klaus with those "years later" comments in TRR and whichever the other one was. And you can't kill off the baby. Really, he wouldn't.

I guess he wants the exact "years later" quotes, which I'm too lazy to find. However, I don't remember one pertaining to Violet, just the one for Klaus. As for DH killing off Sunny, I agree that he probably wouldn't. It's the sort of thing that's simply not done in children's books.

I don't think Handler would kill the baby. It just feels wrong. The only way Sunny is dying is if all the Baudelaires die together.

The TRR Klaus "years later" thing was right when Stephano arrived in the taxi, and I do not feel like typing it out now. Maybe later.
And I'm sure that there was one - probably in TWW, although it could have been somewhere else - but nobody can be bothered to look because it would mean rereading potentially every book, because we can't remember which one it was in. But I'm sure that there was one.
And I agree with swans - he should publish his notes. It would probably have stuff like detailed plotlines that he had to cut (I'm thinking of the lamp mistakenly delivered to Hal, for those of you who can recall it - Letter to the Editor, TVV) as well as more conventional stuff. I'd pay for it. He could even make it some kind of charity thing, because then if we didn't buy it we'd be monsters, so we'd have to.
And I suppose you're right on the death issue and getting around it, swans. It's just that it is a children's series, technically, and that's something that we often forget. I don't think that it's a coincidence that everyone who's died has been an adult.

It could say
I will die Violet may lie
or something completely unimportant. Violet did lie in the next book, so maybe this is irrelevant now.

Yes, both good, quite good, theories. I'm just wondering what they would do without the baby. And about the taxi dude that shows pictures of children or something, I don't remember.. He might show a picture of Sunny later.*Shrug*
