The Basic Eight movie is a possibility, Handler has said, but it's not in the works at the moment.

Ashley Johnson: Couldn't find any definate matches, since Ashley Johnson is a common name. James: could you possible find the one you meant? She voices Gretchen in Recess. >< Personally, I think Flora Birch is more of a Lily, and Eric Szmanda is more of a Douglas than an Adam. Jorja Fox and Jennifer Love Hewitt might be too old. Scarlett Johansen, if she dyed her hair black, would probably make a good Natasha. Personally, I like Swans' choice for Gabriel better (J August Richards). I thought Flora because of Ghost World, and you can imagine her sitting in a small apartment, typing on a typewriter. As for Douglas, I imagine him as not to be sterotypical gay, but the geeky-shy-going-to-only-have-one-boyfriend-ever sort of gay guy. Good idea for Natasha but I imagine Scarlett to be the gossipy-fatish-cow (not that she is fat), not the magee-nice-magikarpty-helper. Jorja Fox may be too old but I still like the idea of JLH. And swans, I agree that Luke Wilson is too old but isn't Douglas the oldest of the group?

Then don't post about it. Nobody wants to look at a new thread to see somebody saying "I don't know" and nothing else. At the very least, you could have asked some questions about the things which confused you.

snicketfires, have you read the book yet? If not let me know if I can send it to you via snail mail. YOU MUST READ IT so then you can grasp all my Natasha allusions. Swansie, thanks for the offer, but I managed to get it off a second-hand bookstore in February. I should have told you, but at that point you weren't stopping in here as regularly anymore. Anyway, I'm glad to see you're back, even if for only the time being. I really did like it; it's my favourite book now. And, I'm sorry to say, I grasped some of your Natasha allusions before I had read it, thus slightly spoiling the twist. *shrugs* Back on topic: I saw a boy on a CSI episode who I though would make a good Douglas, but I havn't been able to find out his name.

The person I think should play Douglas is the demon from Dogma. (Really a great movie but I can't remember his name.) I think it would be great if TB8 was made into a movie.

I made a list of people I thought might fit well into this cast, but, unfortunately, I cannot find it at this time. I think that Alison Pill might make a good Flora. Also, does anyone have any ideas who could play some of the more minor characters? Such as Ron, Millie, Hattie, Eleanor Tert, Winnie Moprah, Peter Pusher, etc.?

It would be rather amusing if Oprah actually played Winnie Moprah. Somehow, though, I doubt she'd want to do that. For Hattie, I thought that perhaps Bonnie Bartlett would be good for the part.

For Hattie, I thought that perhaps Bonnie Bartlett would be good for the part. I was thinking Debbi Morgan would be a good Hattie. I always'd imagined her from She's All That as the art teacher when thinking about Hattie. As for Kristen Bell, I thinking she could play JRM, but not V____. V needs elegance, whereas Kristen has cuteness and hawtness. I think V_____ should be played by ... Emily VanCamp? She'd be an swesome choice!
