Sex scenes? Oh dear me. That sounds awful. It's not awful though you may not be used to that kind of content. I adore TB8, it's my favorite book.

Does Daniel Handler(a.k.a.Lemony Snicket)make other books?if so email me at lemonyslova. I would really want to read them. Does he really make books with sex scenes? It sounds very nasty if you ask me. The Basic Eight, Watch Your Mouth and a third book entitled Adverbs is coming next year. They are not childrens books, but by the same token I would hate to have them reduced to "sex books" either, as that does them an incredible disservice (well, ok, WYM has a lot of sex in it). The Basic Eight is an excellent book, and is about as graphic as any filmed teen drama from recent years. While the prose goes into a bit more detail when the sex scenes do appear, it's not gratuitous in my opinion. It's real life. Watch Your Mouth, on the other hand...well, I'd have a hard time recommending that book to anyone whose first reaction to the word "sex" is "nasty" or "awful"...I can tell you right now that you WILL be offended. As an aside, he's also written two screenplays that are not Snicket related. The first film, Rick, just came out on DVD. Kill The Poor www.imdb.com/title/tt0365407/As I'm sure you know he also wrote the first 8 drafts of the ASOUE script. Edit: Oh and wrote some of Olaf's monologues in the final script of the movie (uncredited).

Does Watch Your Mouth have incestual scenes? O.o; That's what I heard. My friend's mom rented it from the library because it was a LS/DH book, and she thought it was hilarious. You can tell it's Snicket, she said, because of all the 'A phrase which here means' comments made...Is it true? I havent read any other books by him save for ASOUE.

Watch Your Mouth does have several incestous scenes. It is quite funny, and you can tell that the same author wrote WYM and ASOUE. Apparently it's not as good as The Basic Eight, however.

Yeh WYM is great but TB8 is much better.
I'm glad I read WYM first because if I had read it after I read TB8 I would have been disappointed.
