*laughs at PJ's remark* It sounds like a cool idea... you should code your message to in some way... maybe how Isadora did in TVV or how aunt josephine did in TWW or the other way (cant remember name) the bell ring first word 10 words... etc... someone help me out on this thought...

You're thinking of the Sebald Code, invented by Gustav Sebald.
It would be fun indeed to write a letter to Handler using one of the codes he uses in ASoUE. If you really wanted to confuse him, you could use the Sebald code with 8 words instead of 10.

An in-character letter would be fun to write. Pity, really, that it's probably not going to happen.

Ah, but in the V.F.D. transcript in the U.A., it is mentioned that people might forget the Sebald Code and use eight words instead of ten. There is ongoing speculation as to whether this is a clue or not, and whether we will read any Sebald-coded letters from people who have forgotten how the code works in future books.

And someone writing a letter to Handler could use the eight-word Sebald code, pretending to be a neophyte who didn't remember the code properly.

And someone writing a letter to Handler could use the eight-word Sebald code, pretending to be a neophyte who didn't remember the code properly. Hee hee sniggle. They could tip him off by saying something along the lines of "I haven't gotten much sleep lately. I've had to pack, unpack, and repack on numerous occasions, and this disturbs my performance on the exams, also."

I just sent him an email. I put it in Sebald Code. Whether he'll reply, I don't know. If he does, I'll post my letter and the reply up here.
