Me and my friend rosie have figured out the title. On the first ripped Hotel D letter, on the third line it says Lousy Lane [RIP] It must be a title becuase. - There are no other capitalised alliteration in the other letters so it must be the only one. - If itr were just the street it would be Lousy lane. It actually say Lousy Lane with a capital so it must be a title of something. Discuss.

Hmmm..The sentence and the paragraph begins with "Lousy Lane" which wouldn't make much sense for stating the title of the book, because in Lemony's other letters to the editor, he says, "You will find the transcript of the next installment of the Baudelaire's lives, entitled__________" so I wouldn't suspect the title to just be named right in the beginning of a paragraph without any introduction. Also, the sentence says "Lousy Lane ends in cul-de..." which is obviously describing Lousy Lane. The fact that it's an alliteration is just Lemony/Daniel's way of writing, both words begin with capitals because it's a proper noun.
So, I don't know if I agree, but that was extremely good looking out and very clever to notice the alliteration!

An interesting theory, howevere every typed letter to the editor, the title of the next book was written in capitals. I'm not saying that there can be no exception, but I am just saying that it will probably follow the same pattern.
The two exeptions are when Mr. Snicket signed his letter The Grim G*smudge* (that one was handwritten) and when it was a telegram and every word was in capials.

Yes, since Lousy Lane is a place name it would be capitalized, like other proper names.

I agree. It's a good theory, but I don't think that is the actual title.

I wouldn't say he tried to trick us he's just bringing up lousy lane again. I personally think(hope) that kit will take the kids to the horseradish factory on lousy lane in the beginning of 12 to arm themselves against olaf's mycelium.

I don't think that that is it! I mean... All the titles have followed suit
THE Bad Beginning THE Grim Grotto
It just wouldn't work for it being ASOUE: Lousy Lane...
