Okay so you want mods to post more, we get that. But that doesn't change the fact that Trish still did her moderating duties well. She did everything right, aside from posting in your opinion. She doesn't deserve to lose her position over this when everything else she did was fine.

Right, ADR, we get that, and it's a perfectly valid idea, but you should inform the mods of that ahead of time before, you know, removing them from power.

Im sorry its just I didnt even think this was a problem! I thought it was automatic that a moderator has a post. Like bread and butter or something. I dont think Tragedy was really paying attention to the moderating team if these things were allowed to happen before but from now on moderators must post and post often. and 18, 1 can stay as Wicked World moderator if she keeps posting. Yay!

Okay. You should probably PM them telling them this. You know, in case they don't see this thread.

I dont think Tragedy was really paying attention to the moderating team if these things were allowed to happen before but from now on moderators must post and post often. Im actually kind of disappointed in Tragedy that he didnt change this sooner and let this major flaw be on Dark Avenue - ) Oh, so you're dissapointed in Trag, and you say he wasn't paying attention to his moderators? So, 667 made itself upon it's own accord, did it? So we have the awesome moderators now because they randomly made themselves moderators? YOU'RE SAYING THAT TRAG DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO HIS HEAD TEAM? ADR, LISTEN AND ACTUALLY....LISTEN! GOSH, I AM.....whew. ADR, you pay attention now. You. I am not whining. Oh no. I am actually telling you to do something. PAY ATTENTION to what we say. PAY ATTENTION to the fact that you as administrator are to listen to the voice of the people. PAY ATTENTION to what I AM SAYING NOW. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT MODERATORS DO AND ACTUALLY JUDGE THEM FOR THAT, NOT IF THEY POST OR NOT. PAY ATTENTION ON HOW TO FREAKING TYPE WITH GOOD FREAKING GRAMMAR. PAY ATTENTION TO HOW TO RUN A WEBSITE WELL, AND ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION ON HOW TO RUN 667. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT WE WANT AND NOT WHAT YOU WANT. PAY ATTENTION TO OUR CUSTOMS, OUR TRADITIONS, AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE TRUE FACT THAT YOU ARE WRECKING THEM. PAY ATTENTION TO OUR PROTESTS AND COMMENTS, AND NOT FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF EVERY SECOND OF THE TIME YOU'RE ON. THANK YOU. Sorry for the caps, it's how I feel.

I think of all the things in that paragraph that could have been uttered with such vehemence as to warrant underlining, "good freaking grammar" was the least worthy.

Just, I hardly think that phrase was the most important of the paragraph.

I'm not really sure about the "Moderators must post" rule. How often would they have to post, or how long would they have to go without posting in order to merit replacement? And what if their section happens to become relatively quiet for some time, or gets nothing but short little posts not really worth replying to? For that matter, I think one way mods can set a good example is by making well-thought-out posts in their sections rather than just focusing on making a lot of posts. I also think this sort of thing is more or less covered by the rule that a mod will be demoted if they neglect their duties for 10 days(which can mean not logging on at all, or being active but ignoring obvious problems in the section they're supposed to monitor.)

I agree. What sort of guidelines does "Post a lot" come with?
I must post a lot in my own section? I must post a lot all over the board? I must post any old thing just for the sake of posting? I must post only meaningful, well thought out posts? Is there a quota of how much I must post?

A moderator's job has very little to do with posting. A moderator is basically an organiser who keeps things ordered and tidy, as reflected in the powers we get - locking, deleting, moving, etc. None of it requires posting, except to tell people where they're going wrong, if they are. I can understand the sentiment expressed here - that a moderator should be a leader of their section - but that's not what we were appointed for, and, as noted, it's not always possible. Again, I think this is a reflection of how ADR wants to run things as opposed to how Tragedy ran things, because his style was more quietly organisational whereas ADR is far more visible in her role. I think that the members of 667 can speak for themselves, and don't need the staff to do that for them. A frequent poster isn't necessarily a great moderator because there are different skills involved in those positions - there may be limited overlap, depending on the section, but that's not true everywhere. If people have something to say, they will post, but if there is nothing that can be contributed to a subject, a post shouldn't be expected (from anyone). That's why new threads constantly surface and old ones fall back. Also, if this is to remain a rule: Moderators must post on a consistant basis or else they will be replaced. Then I think I should note that it should be added in the formal style of the other administrative decrees (it can probably be merged with the other moderator requirements in decree #6) to ensure that people take it seriously and do not overlook it (also, I should note that it is spelt "consistent").

Okay, ADR, hoping you look at this thread again. Your opinions on my moderation position are duly noted if not agreed with, but I still have a problem!
My main reason for making this thread was that I am unable to moderate in Wicked World because for some reason, although it says my status is a moderator, it won't let me delete or move threads, or even delete or edit posts!
I don't understand. Please help?

It's because she took away your moderator powers, but left your name in the moderator list for Wicked World.
