Christmas Blues
Calendars are opened, December is the month, Adults exchange frightened glances For it is at last the dreaded month.
For as the children play And think off Christmas bliss The parents all begin to pray That the month will move swift
Ohhhhhhhh
High Taxation Money Complications That devilish Santa Claus. Packed markets And foot long bills Accountants big wide smiles.
Christmas blues Christmas blues The stress the stress the stress
How much hair will turn white-gray these days, While the mind is lost in holiday mist?
Christmas blues Christmas blues The cost the cost the cost
Groans and moans Twisting of arms And children’s wildest wishes. Christmas blues Christmas blues They last till the 24th
But on the morning of the day We’ve all been readying for How is it that we smile and grin And not blow up in remorse?

You can now vote for anyone, but I'm disappointed with the amount of entries this week.

I've had mine ready for a couple days, but due to computer problems, I'm just getting it up. Sorry, Dupin.
Why should I write a Christmas poem? There are hundreds, thousands Of songs and poems already.
Some of bright-nosed deer, Or a jolly, overweight man. Some of gift giving Or tidings of good will. Others of spiritual things, Of the birth of Christ And the first Christmas.
One more will be nothing Just one among many Doomed to be forgotten among the masses. So I ask again: Why write a Christmas poem?
Because there’s always that chance A slim chance But still a chance That someone, Somewhere, Will be touched Will be changed for the better.
And that, That alone, Is reason enough for me.

Derik is ill, and Akbar said he'll have one for tomorrow. I've heard nothing from Amber D:

Sorry George. I've been in the hospital most of the week and my internet wouldn't work when I tried to post.
Christmas Morning
It’s two in the morning, And I can’t sleep. I just can’t shut my eyes, No use counting sheep.
It’s four in the morning, Almost time to get up. Mum won’t be up till seven, But that’s just my luck.
It’s six in the morning, I’ve been awake all night. Gifts at the end of my bed, Still no sign of light.
It’s eight in the morning, The sun is creeping through. We’re all opening presents, From you to me and me to you.
It’s ten in the morning, And my family are all here. Yet more gifts and laughter, Love and warmth are near.
It’s our Christmas morning. Only comes once a year. This care and affection, Won’t last long, I fear.

Arghh! I completely forgot about this with all my schoolwork this week! It's still Friday, so you'll excuse the lateness, right (and please)?
Christmas
Carry gloves around Have hot chocolate Romp in snow Inspire others with a gift Sing and carol around town Take a long ride to see the wintry trees Make and bake the holiday feast Awake at 5:00 in the morning to snoop in presents Share all the moments together

This was a hard topic since there are so many out there already.
Snowfall.
I'm watching out the window, Covered all in white. Hoping that she'll be there Maybe, she might.
She went to get the tree But she hasn't come back home. I put down A Christmas Carol, A heavy festive tome.
I'm staring to get worried. It has been hours now. Her phone has not been working. There's a robin on the bough.
No, I can't let my mind wander In case she's on her way. The telephone rings- It's the tree supplier. My wife, she died that day.

The results are as follows. In no particular order, the people through to the next round are...
DERIK
SORA
AMBER
ORANGEY TWIXET
SIXTEEN
Three left: Akbar, Jemima and Linda Rahldeen. The last person through is...
AKBAR
This means the bottom two are Linda and Jemima.
My vote: both acts have consistently posted, so this purely goes on who I think deserves to get through.
I am going to vote to save Linda.

Whee. I made it, even though I'm a lazy sod. Thankyou, people of 667. I'll try to be more puntual next time.

Tough choice.... Jem is on my team, and Linda isn't. Linda's poem wasn't really about Christmas, just about the mass of Christmas poems that already existed, but overall I liked Linda's better. Sorry Jem, I vote for Linda to stay.
