Old members in disguise?
Recently, quite a stir has been caused by two new members: Coco Chef and darkavenuegirl. Both of these members are suspected to be other well-known members of 667 (Coco Chef is thought to be Mr. Poe and Darkavenuegirl is thought to be ADR). Although both of these new members continue to deny any connection with their suspected counterparts, both of them are connected by evidence that seems too strong to be just a coincidence.
COCO CHEF – MR POE?[/u]
Coco Chef came to 667 on January 6th. Telling everyone her name was Martha and that she was 68 years old (or was it 65?), she began to make herself at home. She participated in a variety of different sections, even going so far as to post her picture, write an article for The 667er, and start a radio broadcast. But then, soon after her arrival, tragedy struck (and we don't mean the admin). On January 13th, Coco Chef passed away, and soon after her death, her niece Kelly informed 667 of the situation. Although many were skeptical, including a few who were convinced that she was the notorious former member Mr. Poe, others expressed their sympathy and condolences.
Coco Chef found the web address of Mr. Poe's former copycat forum in her computer's web history, claiming it was her grandson that must have left it there. Events such as her forgetfulness about her age, her sudden death, leaving 667 in her will, and her fake tombstone also seem to suggest deceit of some kind, though not necessarily from Mr. Poe.
DARKAVENUEGIRL – ADR?[/u]
Darkavenuegirl also arrived at 667 shortly after the New Year, on January 4th. She showed deep concern for the fate of the former admin, All Due Respect, which led many to believe that she was ADR in disguise. So far, darkavenuegirl has vehemently denied having any connection with the former admin, but still takes every opportunity to praise ADR or suggest that members have been too harsh in their judgements.
Darkavenuegirl seems to know impossibly large amounts of information about ADR, the members' treatment of her, and other tidbits such as the months-old banner made by ADR's brother, despite only joining at the beginning of this year. This causes many to be skeptical about her claim to be a new member.
Many people at 667 are inclined to believe that these two are fakes, and indeed the evidence against them does seem to suggest so. At this point in time, however, it's impossible to prove. As Coco Chef herself pointed out, even matching IP addresses don't necessarily prove guilt. We should keep in mind that however suspicious it may seem, there's still a possibility that this is just coincidence. A big, big coincidence.

Snicket - Back With A
by Sixteen
Three months ago, The End was released. Lemony Snicket fans everywhere read eagerly to see what fates lay ahead for the Baudelaire orphans. But when they finished the book, that was it. Snicket had concluded the story and would never be heard from again. Or so we thought.
"Horseradish: Bitter Truths You Can't Avoid" is a title that has been floating around BurdensomeBooks for a while. Recently, however, various details have been released about the book. The author, of course, is Lemony himself. A synopsis;
Life is a turbulent journey, fraught with confusion, heartbreak, and inconvenience. Unfortunately, this book will not help.
Instead, this book of wit and wisdom offers a selection of alarming but inescapable truths from the work of Lemony Snicket, along with selections from his unpublished papers and remarks he has made at dinner parties and anarchist riots.
And a release date - which hasn't been confirmed - of April 24th 2007. It appears to be a book about "life after graduation" aimed at "young adults". It's been speculated that this will be a LSUA-like book, with seemingly random articles, files and quotes thrown together. Hopefully it won't be another BlankBook/NotoriousNotations. In any case, it will keep the boards on the Series active.
Some other upcoming Snickety releases include "The Composer is Dead" and reprints of aSoUE. There's been no new information about TCID but these reprints look interesting. They have their original titles, along with a subtitle of "Or ......!". For example, "The Bad Beginning, Or Orphans!" and "The Reptile Room, Or Murder!" They've become known as the Penny-Novel Reprints because of their style. Helquist has designed new covers for the first two editions. The fact that the Baudelaires are wearing different clothes in TRR's cover shocked and pleased members. It seems that each reprint will focus on a particular scene in its corresponding book along with some extra features. On the cover for "Or Orphans!" it says "Free inside: the startling and perplexing debut of The Cornucopian Cavalcade". It's a shame they can't release this extra information on its own all together in a single volume. Because I know I'll buy them and spend all my money.
A couple of weeks ago, Jemima posted a thread in Weary Writer concerning Daniel Handler's birthday. Together with Gigi and Dear Dairy, some ideas have been set out as a gift. You can submit your piece of artwork or fanfiction to be put in a book which will be given to Handler later this year. Please don't submit anything too lengthy, in order to make sure he'll take time to read it. Along with this, there's a plan to ask Handler for his support in The Otiose Objectives. As you know, #10 and #13 require direct involvement from Handler. So, check out that thread (It may be a bit early...). It's an announcement at the top of every board.
There's a fair amount of news for you. So, as for the worries of 667 dieing after the Series, it looks like Snicket won't be gotten rid of that easily.

I can't think of anything to say, but Aki wants me to say something. So I will.
1. I have a bad cold right now. This cold also includes a sore throat and deaf left ear. Which means I can't listen to music. Sad stuff.
2. Okay, so maybe I can, but I only hear half the quality. I've been watching three videos obsessively this afternoon:
A late Christmas wish from your old man, Lennon.
A working class hero is something to be.
Ground Control to Major Tom.
The lyrics make me sad, for no particular reason. The bolded verses, especially, kill me every time:
Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills
and put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown,
engines on
Check ignition
and may God's love be with you
[spoken]
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Liftoff
This is Ground Control
to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule
if you dare
This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating
in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past
one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much
she knows
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead,
there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....
Here am I floating
round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do.
I've just been in a very Space Oddity-y type mood for the last few days. It might be because I have joined a band (I'm the keyboardist, handclapper and dancer) and the lead singer is totally crazy, but loves David Bowie.
3. I hate school. Mostly.
4. I want life to be more like this:

Hello everyone. It's Cybermystery and I'm here to give you the low-down on all the big stories and fanwork of 667. Our first look is at one of the newest stories out in CCreativity.
STORY OF THE WEEK: 667 Hell: Adr’s Revenge
The origin of the new work came from the one and only PJ. After the great New Year’s event of Tragedy coming back into power, PJ had the great idea of writing a 667fic now entitled 667 Hell: ADR's Revenge. So far the writers are as follows (Thanks, J, for supplying the list.)
-Chapter 1 was written by Alice.
-Chapter 2 was written by PJ.
-Chapter 3 was written by Sam.
-Chapter 4 was officially written by J.
[Edwin unofficially wrote Chapter 4. DISREGARD IT.]
-Chapter 5 was written by Cybermystery.
-Chapter 5.5. was written by Sam.
-Brief intermission for Julius Caesar quotes, as presented by J and Dear Diary.
-Part 6 was called by A.; Mystress unofficially did part 6.
-Edwin wrote part 7.
Response:
I got some comments on the story from BSam,Gigi, A.,Dear Dairy and someone who would like to remain "anonymous". You'll see why quotation marks are used.
BSam: “It has some of the best writing in CCreativity in recent times
If only Edwin could write, it was be a solid gold thread ”
Gigi: “It's been very entertaining. I wish I could hear the music for the songs, they're great. And I can't wait to find out how it ends.”
Gigi was the first victim of the evil ADR. I asked what she thought of her death.
“I wasn't surprised that I was ADR's first victim. I view it as a sacrifice for 667 Dark Avenue. I am truly a martyr.
[/sarcasm] ”
Dear Dairy had quite some commentary.
“The story of "ADR's Revenge" so far is exciting and action-packed. Each writer (at least the ones who are officially in-canon) seems to mesh with previous elements of the story while retaining his/her own sense of humor. My favorite line, so far, is BSam's: "After a few PM exchanges, she made arrangements for an instrumental travel montage." The songs composed by many of the writers are quite inventive. My favorite song, so far, is Alice's in episode one. I'm looking forward to reading future episodes. Keep up the great work, collaborators! ”
A. thought, “I like it, it's very amusing. And I'm being quoted in the 667er for liking it, Whee.”
Yes, A, whee. That's deep.
"Mr. Anonymous" said: “I like it a lot, especially part 4 written by J. It was absolutely brilliant. J is so amazingly talented, it's unbelievable. Alice and Sam also show remarkable talent, but J was surprisingly good. Alice and Sam were better, but I think J's was more noteworthy, because it was...specialer. It just has that, you know, unbelievable goodness. Sam and Alice's were believably good because they're ALWAYS good, you know, but J's was like "Wow, J's usually crappier than this. But this one was less crappy, and definitely worth reading and commenting on."”
Author Interview:
I also had a short interview with PJ, the mastermind behind the story.
1. How did you get inspired to think up a story like this?
Well, as soon as I heard ADR had gotten the axe, I decided that I should try and spruce up CCreativity a bit with lots of more writing, and thought I might do a collaboration on ADR's fall. But when she made her "I will return more powerful than ever before!" comment, I knew it would have to be a revenge fic. And then J. had already made a thread on it, so it went pretty easily from there.
2. What do you think of it so far?
I think it's going great. I love how so many people are willing to give it a shot. I hope it gets a lot more people reading as well as writing in CC. If not we'll write the offenders out with horribly gory deaths.
3. Who do you think adds most to the story with creative writing and storyline?Actually, I've had a mass of work and stuff to do, so I haven't been able to catch the latest fics. I liked Alice's the best so far, but I've only read two...
As you see, this fanfic shows greatness coming. Only time will tell.
ARTIST OF THE WEEK: Tigerclaw.{/b]
Now we go onto the art of the week. No one can click ‘Aggravating Art’ and not see one username: Tigerclaw. Since August 2006, Tigerclaw has given us countless drawings of ASOUE characters and, even weirder, they have been drawn as dogs and other animals.
This odd but unique approach to art has attracted many fans.
Artist Interview:
I was able to talk for a short while with the Talented Tigress.
Did you think your art was going to be this popular?
No actually... I thought no one would really be interested in Dog people
Why did you decide to draw people as dogs or other animals?
Mostly because my humans come out as weird looking blobs. I need to practice their faces mostly.
What is your favorite piece of art you have made?
My latest piece...well animation. Thistledown's "The Great Unkown" brought to life.
I can't work with buttons though That may be a problem in the future.
How does it feel to have one of the main threads posted in in Aggravating Art?
Well It's nothing big but it's nice. An artist is always glad to hear her work is appreciated.
Will we be expecting more art from you?
So long as boredom still exists i'll be making pictures
so...yes!
Can you draw me?
Sure.
She did. Look at me in all my lion glory.

Cybey's Golden Nugget
My golden nugget for this article is to read 667 Hell:ADR's Revenge and look at Tigerclaw's Art. If you don't , may ADR's bloody pen attack you.
Thanks for reading, I'm out.

Hi all.
First off, this is day late, and I am uber-extraordinarily sorry. You see, today was the beginning of my test week, and yesterday I was insanely busy studying for the 3 tests tomorrow. Plus my mum came back from London around noon, so things were even more hectic.
Anyways. I haven’t been very involved in 667 recently, which I’m rather upset about, since I seem to have missed quite a bit. Linda’s lede was very informative, though. I’ve been lurking a bit, and reading some 667fics [viz. hers]. I also read J’s excellent usical. But I still haven’t the OMFGWTF shamsh hit 667 Hell: ADR’s Revenge. Good on all the people who contributed, with the exception of Edwin. I hear it’s brilliant, I’ll read it as soon as test week ends.
I’m quite upset about the dearth of articles recently, though. Come on, people, put your talents to good use. (:
I’m off now. Hope you like this issue, now go download Nelly Furtado’s All Good Things Come To an End.
Peace out,
Akbar.
