Don't worry DD, you will get into it, and then you . . . what? I managed to fight through the first story; the second was very entertaining. I'm ready to start the third. Thanks, B, I am getting into it more now.

Oh no. I just realized that I am reading the wrong book. I am reading The Cloud Atlas by Liam Callanan. Not the same book at all, but I'm already 100 pages into it and want to continue. My library doesn't have the correct book, so I'll probably have to skip the discussion. Or can I just interject with my own discussion to confuse everyone else?

If you guys want to group discussions based on each story within the book that would be great. If you're interested in leading a discussion for a particular story PM me, and then I'll select one person to lead that discussion for that story. Ideally I would like to wait until everyone is finished, but the latest I want to start this discussion thing is the beginning of August.

Oh no. I just realized that I am reading the wrong book. I am reading The Cloud Atlas by Liam Callanan. I noticed that book when I was getting Cloud Atlas yesterday. Luckily I remembered the author or I might have made that same mistake! Anyhow, I just finished the part with the Frobisher guy, but I need to head off to work now. About how long are you guys anticipating taking on reading this book? I want to try to pace myself to take about the same amount of time as everyone else.

Songbird asked me to take over the organization of the Summer Book Club, and I agreed.
Discussion Area for Cloud Atlas can be found in Leering Literature. Look at the special section (where Harry Potter and LotR discussions are located) and click on "Book Club."
If you have not yet finished the book, remember that these sections will probably contain spoilers. Enter at your own risk!
Do we want discussion leaders for each story, or shall we just go for it?

I had the book for my birthday and I've been looking for somewhere to discuss it.
I don't think it is the sort of book where spoilers are a problem. You can start discussing before you finish reading it, and other people's comments will probably enhance the rest of your reading rather than spoiler it.
