I've never been the type to complain about my problems publicly, especially those I face in real life. Although this is a problem I face solely on here-- on a messageboard of which I've been a proud member for nearly two years, and a place that has become what I consider to be a second home --it is still a problem, and one I strongly feel needs to be expressed.
Back in January, I received a mysterious PM from someone that stated simply Have you been resetting Shard's karma? I don't get how he can keep going from -11 to +1 in less than an hour. The person I had thought sent this message also claimed to have received the very same one from me. First of all, I have never even heard of Shard. And secondly, why would someone who was twenty-seven and has been a member of this messageboard since August of 2007 suddenly send spam to a total stranger? Obviously, my account was either hacked into or there was some sort of systematic glitch.
For the next four months, everything seemed normal. I received no word that anything else was weird with my account or anyone else's. Then yesterday, I received word that not only had this happened again, but that it was the very same message. I have no idea who is doing this to me (depending that it is, in fact, a who), but enough is enough. I'm usually a pretty easy-going person, but when people mess with me or someone close to me, I am less than understanding. I can even get quite mean. I just hope that those of you who feel know me well won't assume that I am capable of doing anything like this.
I fiercely value my reputation on here, and the fact that I'm being set up like this is not something I'm going to let go. I have severe anxiety, and the thought that I may be forced to resign as moderator of the Foresaken Fanworks section and leave here permanantly has been weighing heavily on my mind ever since this incident occurred. And that is something I never thought would happen unless I suddenly lost interest in ASoUE, my beloved fandom, which is as strong as it was a year ago.
If my account has indeed been hacked into, then this is TO THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE:[/i] I may not know who you are, but I know what you've been doing, and I want it stopped. If you have so much time to go around masquerading as someone else and making them look bad, then you not only lack maturity, but respect for the feelings of others as well. My suggestion to you would be to stop what you're doing right now, grow up, get a hobby, AND ABOVE ALL GET A LIFE.
