It's a very long list, located in the Bible (Leviticus). I did a paper on it last year so here's what I know: -Animals have to chew their cud to be kosher (like cows) -They also need split hooves - You can't eat owls, winged insects, and camels - Fish need to have scales visible to the human eye and untorn when removed, and they need fins also. So no eating sharks or shellfish -Also includes how the food is prepared (killed) If you really want to know I can PM you my paper who would want to eat owls anyway?lol Me! I'm a Catholic, so that means I'm a Christian too since I believe in Jesus Christ as God and Savior. wait.....you believe Jesus is your savior but you are catholic? don't Catholics believe that if you are good you go to heaven? jw Hopefully, if my interview went as well as I feel it did, I'll be a peer minister on campus next year. Yay! woot! my dad was on campus outreach, have you heard of it? im so glad to hear there are some believers besides me here! God bless!

I'm quite fascinated with the concept of the supernatural, so I am interested in that aspect of Christianity and other religions. There probably is no organized religion that is 100% true - but I'm of the belief that various aspects of various religions can be fit together, like a puzzle. I think Jesus really did have superhuman powers, including the ability to perform miracles - along with Moses and a few others.
BTW, according to the Islam faith, did Mohammad perform miracles? I'm not too familiar with that religion - but I do believe that the extreme Islam fundamentalists are no more representative of their faith as a whole, than the extreme Christian fundamentalists are representative of theirs.

Ivey, Catholics believe in Jesus too. Catholics ARE christians, did you know? ^^ what makes a christian a christian is that they believe that Jesus can save them, not only half-save them or three-fourths-save them, but that he can save them all the way and without you doing any extra good works. that doesnt mean, of course, that we can sin anytime and get away with it, just that he forgives us when we do interesting ideas, Very Funky Disco ;D love ya all!

We believe he is our savior. Therefore, we are Christians. Don't you ever say otherwise.

From the religion thread in DD. Why is Roman Catholic separate from Christian? Catholicism is a sub-sect of Christianity, which encompasses a whole bunch of different belief systems. So... anyone interested in debating the existence of god? Christians believe that Jesus can save them from all sin, and Catholics believe you just have to be good (which we cant do) and debating? bring it on! is ivey saying that a catholic isn't a christian, again? go tell her otherwise in that thread.

Baptists, Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, etc. are all Christian denominations. Actually, they by themselves aren't religions; Christianity is. But Christianity alone is a rather broad religion, so the set individualists mentioned above usually follow a more specific set of guidelines.

I'm an atheist. I used to consider myself christian, but then I stopped believing. I just never felt it. LOL to that!!! ;D And ivey, Sherry and and Tiago Squalor are both right. We Catholics ARE Christians. Why is it that Catholics and Protestants each have very distinct identities even though they believe in the same God and follow the same core beliefs of Chrisitanity? And also it seems that some people today lack common sense. No offense, ivey.
