Hermes: You know, perhaps you're right. I just try to stay away from fanatics. I'm not saying, by any means, that all of them are this way. Oh, absolutely - I don't like fanatics either.

God doesn't look kindly onto gay people. Or women. Or science. It's not God that doesn't like gay people, women and science. It's the churches. I believe in God, and he made me this way. I just have a real problem with churches in general. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I know most churches out there would be happy to burn me at the stake. I thought you don't believe in God, tiago. Are you a deist?

I agree with Tiago completely that most churches really do mistreat people and look on them in a bad light just because they've made bad choices or done things they're not proud of. Nobody's perfect, and people who look down on others are, in my mind, some of the worst people out there. If the people in the churches would start practicing what they preach, then maybe things would get a whole lot better. But that's not going to happen, because most church-goers don't even truly believe what they tell others. I wish we could all just get along and be friends. That's how you change the world, not by grumbling and complaining.
