I've actually spotted a couple just this week: The book Johnny Tremain was on sale at a used-book sale on my campus. While perusing TV listings last night, I saw one for the 1934 horror film The Black Cat (for which the coffee shop is named, and whose trailer appears on that confusing website). I also realized that the " conversational maxim of manner" devised by linguist H. P. Grice: Be brief (avoid unnecessary prolixity). ...is amusingly reminiscent of Theodora's reprimand to Lemony i in the first chapter: “Don’t repeat yourself. It’s not only repetitive, it’s redundant, and people have heard it before." That was already listed in the LS website! I was just asking, while buying a book, "Am I asking the wrong questions?"

I don't know if this is enough coincidence, but I saw someone with a T-Shirt with the words "and there was a girl..." on it. My mind didn't stop repeating the first paragraph of WCTBATH again and again.

I was about to question a response to an ATWQ thread, when I was interrupted by the arrival of a letter, whose bold text asked in a header, "Are you asking the right questions?"

My friend and I have taken to referencing the book a lot in real life...every time she asks something like, "What am I doing wrong?" I say "Asking all the wrong questions." Not a coincidence exactly, but it amuses me c:

When I was at my nan's house yesterday, my ten year old cousin was showing me and my mum his toys. One of them was a spy set, which came with handcuffs, binoculars, and a guidebook on how to be a spy. The book cover resembled the cover of ATWQ. I wonder if this VFD's new way of recruiting volunteers? By sending toys to unsuspecting children? O.O

I just read about that radio signal, and wondered about it's relation to ATWQ, and then I saw it, "...two related stations "The Pip" and "Squeaky Wheel."" Again, nice find, Antenora!

I didn't notice that line! The connection I had in mind was to the Bombinating Beast and the buzzing bell; I also thought that mysterious radio stations sending coded messages seem like something we'd encounter in ATWQ.

Ah, yes the buzzing. Wow, well then the Pip and Squeaky Wheel stations are even more mysterious now! Radio stations sending coded messages would be rather something I'd expect in ASoUE, but as it's still VFD in ATWQ, it could happen.
EDIT: And I just saw that underwater Clusterous Forest video--it's so hauntingly beautiful. Really helps you imagine it in WCTBATH.

I've been reading a book by Enrique Gaspar, and discovered from the biographical information that he was an acquaintance of Camille Flammarion.

I saw this wine in Trader Joe's, and both the graphical style and the question-mark motif reminded me of ATWQ. The price label did not give the name or vinyard, just a description of the taste. (Note: This isn't actually my photograph; I didn't have my camera with me, so I had to find a picture online).
