I'm glad it's working for you now, misterm. How are you finding it?

Wait, that's an easy question. He's going there to murder Qwerty, of course! FOR WHT?!

Well, we know a subsequent volume will contain murder, and of the characters we have, Qwerty stands as a perfect victim. There are any number of reasons to murder a librarian, I suppose, or a sub-librarian, or a sub-sub librarian.
Antenora, Terry Craig: Quality discoveries. I think I'm going to wait before updating everything again - especially since none of the .gifs work for me - but I'm impressed by the thought that's gone into this site.

Waiting would be a good idea, because judging by some vacant slots in the numbered URLs of each picture on the site, right now each merely occupied by a plain colour ( here, here, here, and here at least), it looks like there is yet more to come...

Wow, they're really building on this, huh. I wonder what their aim is. If it's to boggle our minds, they've certainly succeeded, although I like to think this also has value to a particular subset of those who have yet to read the book proper.

Not strictly speaking part of the ? page, but I was just scrolling through the standard site and discovered you can see the carriage of Hector's balloon at the very top of the screen between "About the Book" and "Author and Artist."

Does the scroll function work for you, then? I still encounter glitches using the navigation buttons at the top of the screen.

The scroll function works fine for me, now, although initially it was horribly glitchy when the site first opened. You can also see an animation of Snicket falling as you scroll past "About the Book" and "Author and Artist."

My problem with the scrolling function was always that the first Snicket shadow is a double shadow (he's projected on the background, but there's also an animated shadow falling past the first), and that, if you scroll right past the last thing on the map, the page endlessly scrolls and the graphics glitch out. But the scrolling itself always worked.

I can see an animation of the lights in the buildings, but not one of Snicket falling, nor indeed the image of Hector's balloon. In fact, I can't seem to get past "About the Book" without the site jumping me to the end of the page and creating the endlessly scrolling phenomenon you described.

What browser do you use? Maybe it's optimised for Firefox or something.

I use Firefox, but it's even worse in Internet Explorer, which I tested earlier. I guess I'll try accessing the website from another device, since it's clearly not a problem for anyone else.

No Sherry, you are not alone, I have exactly the same problem.

Holy sh*t, I've just had a revelation while re-reading this. Now I know what the colours stand for: these are the colours of the ATWQ books! It seems so obvious now--they're the same number of colours as there'll be books in the series, and the first colour is the same shade of blue WCTBATH is. I'm calling it: the colour for the next book will be sea-weedish green (well, or alternately dark reddish brown or dark grey, but I think the colours get darker as the series progresses).
