I raised the same points to Tragedy before posting this, and he made the point that we're already on the track to 1,000,000 without creating masses of spam. In that case I'm not quite sure what the point of this is either, but don't shoot the messenger.

Dear Diary,
Not the best day.
I asked Sherry Ann to make an aspirant post about what it would take for 667 to reach a million posts by its thirteenth birthday. Surprisingly, it wouldn't take much at all - just members sustaining the level of activity of the past couple of weeks.
To reach a million posts in thirteen years has been my dream as the founder of this site, ever since the possibility struck me four whole days ago. But Sherry Ann's report did not inspire the excitement that I had hoped for. Indeed, the members did not hesitate to salsa copiously all over my dream, as though it were some kind of tortilla chip.
Like I said, not the best day. BSam and Willis are at war again. That would usually put me in a good mood, but I don't feel like getting involved. I'm feeling pretty sulky now. I doubt even Sophie could make me feel better. I do appreciate Sherry Ann's effort though. She has been indispensable lately.
Love, Tragedy
P.S. This was the 801,000th post.

You should have never brought this up. Do we really want people making useless post just to reach that goal?

You should keep your diary in a more private place so that all of us don't read it.

We could keep discussing about the 1,000,000 posts and we will have them faster than we think.

Nobody is salsating on the idea of a million posts, they're salsating on the idea of people pledging themselves to spam.

Which they should be salsating on anyway, because it is a terrible idea

So we should just try to make as many (good) non-spam posts as possible? Edit: Not as many as possible, but the perfect amount of posts to have 1,000,000 in June 2015

I think Sixteen articulated it best: If we focus on making high-quality posts that contain meaningful points or insightful commentary, naturally posting numbers will rise. Perhaps we might instead focus on ways to reach this goal, rather than solely on the statistics themselves.
