An awesome person in my life won 2 free tickets to see Kate Nash in L.A. on Saturday and gave them my name. Unfortunately, none of my roommates are really into that kind of music. There are a few people I know who might be interested in going but I don't know them well enough yet that it wouldn't be awkward if I were alone with one of them.
Should I go alone and be that person at a concert or should I ask one of the people who might enjoy it and endure the inevitable awkwardness or should I ask one of my roommates who would just be putting up with it?
it really really sucks living somewhere with no friends that you actually choose

Go alone with one of the tickets and go again with the other ticket.

Go again with the other ticket, at the same concert?

No, go later.
That, or you could give the other ticket to a homeless person who's a fan of Kate Nash.

Alternatively, take The Doctor, since he's obviously already helping you to complete time travel shenanigans.

Now that I think of it, you could time travel so your present self could go to that concert, and you could go again with the other ticket as your future self, sp you would be at the concert two times at the same time.
EDIT: Damn, Linda beat me to it.

Take a friend that doesn't like Kate Nash.

Take somebody who loves strong independent female singers who has mastered both catchy pop songs and punk rock. Kate Nash's second album is so boss.

If I was you, I'd ask one of the people you know is a fan. I think a lot of friendships, or any relationship, feels awkward at first. Just remember it's only a temporary feeling. I've never been to a concert, but from what I understand, there is more listening than talking being done, so that should help ease some of the awkwardness. Maybe afterward you could do something you both enjoy, like rent a movie you both like. That way, you'll have something in common, and won't feel at such a loss for what to talk about.

Yeah that's a good plan.
