how will these illustrations fit in the project? will it be just the snickitinary typed out as it is with the occasional image or are we writing the definitions on the illustrations? That is a possibility, though I also had a layout in mind that I plan to upload for consideration once we have a few illustrations. I also can illustrate fenestration and infenestration.

cool.
I guess I'd like to illustrate my words, I have ideas for Quintessential and Highfalutin (and for Tautology too, but that one lacks creativity so if anyone wants to illustrate it, please feel free to do so.)

Sorry for the delay; I had to be away for a large proportion of the last twenty-four hours. I am deliberately advocating an open policy on illustrations. Size, style, text or not - do what you like. I want to see what people come up with.

Here should do fine, although I might make a separate thread for them later.

I would also like to contribute the illustration to bandit's valetudinarian with the garden scissors unless anybody's fervent to do it just quoting this to be safe. I also have an illustration to "Chiropterologist" ready, and furthermore those two may be the only illustrations I'll have the time to contribute. I'll have access to a scanner in a bout a week. I thought we illustrated our own?

No, there's no rule to that, and it's likely that not all illustrations oops I mean definitions are going to get illustrated. Although I guess I'd say the person who came up with a definition is entitled to illustrate it too. So if you want to illustrate chiropterologist I can withdraw mine; I'm just saying I have one ready.

Might be a good idea to post any completed illustrations to make it clear when something is taken, too. I'll also add that terry is quite correct; you can illustrate any person's word and definition unless that person has a problem with you so doing.

Cool. I think I've already mentioned this, but I'll have access to a scanner by next Thursday, so that's when my illustrations are going to get uploaded&posted.
I'm also looking forward to seeing other people's illustrations!

Lest we forget, illustrations are still wanted for this project. They don't have to be big, but they don't have to be anything, it's just important that you make them if you want to or if you have an idea for one! As soon as I've got any in, I'll make a thread just for the illustrations to serve as better advertisement, but I can't do that if nobody turns any in! I'll admit that this isn't a very compelling statement when I haven't drawn anything yet either, but I'm going to change that soon. The Snicktionary itself is highly readable, a few people have offered to make illustrations, and there's plenty of potential. Maybe you just want to draw a picture of a yowie or a xylophone, but there's room for giant bats, people climbing up walls, fires, you could settle for just a window... there's a great deal of potential here. In fact, I'll commit myself to making some illustrations of my own as soon as somebody else has turned some in, the better to express variety. A fortnight left!
