I assume the entries will be listed in order of "worst" to "best" as the days progress. Personally, I would presume that there will be no specific order in them being posted, as there has been no suggestion of such- thirteen winners being chosen has been made clear throughout and I don't imagine that they'd be ranked. Especially because it's been emphasised that it was a difficult selection; to me, that says that the winners are pretty much on par, especially as it also implies that certain 'losers' were close to being winners too. Although, it would be no surprise if Snicket were to have said that it was a difficult choice regardless! But if it were difficult, which it probably was, I wouldn't think that they'd then go through further difficulty with ranking them. That being said, they may well post them in some kind of conscious order- perhaps a particularly impressive one to start off and grab attention; likewise with the final post.

If it was your vote Pevalwen; who would be your picks? That Cleo Knight Ink picture is going to win for sure

I've said, and will keep on saying, that I regard the competition as being quite diverse in terms of the nature of the entries; that to me speaks of a series of victors which are difficult to rank because they're difficult to even compare.

If it was your vote Pevalwen; who would be your picks? That Cleo Knight Ink picture is going to win for sure The Cleo Knight image does indeed stand out! Some really good-quality pieces jumped out near the end. But some of the aesthetically-pleasing ones may have been compromised in favour of more concept/idea-based pieces such as yours, which require a different kind of effort. Like Dante has said, it's very diverse! The Black Cat Coffee pair of images, one with Snicket and one with Ellington, are definitely striking. The art nouveau one too, although maybe that's just because it's been there from the start and has stayed in my mind! It's different though. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dante having some success with his piece too, due to its medium. It really will be interesting to see how they have been judged, regarding aesthetic quality vs. originality. Personally, I would find this difficult. I would want to give the original ideas a chance, but one simply cannot tell how much effort one put into a more aesthetic piece of work. For that reason, I would probably be devoid of sympathy and set myself a criteria, rating pieces on execution, ideas and immediate appeal, as if marking school work What do you think? It's funny- everyone here is waiting to hear about Scotland's vote results and I'm potentially more interested in this.

Whoaaa this is both so unexpected and awesome that for the only time ever I'm going to say, I can't even, because I can't even.
What I'm most excited about, I think, is that Daniel Handler has actually seen my entry and digged it =D
I was also probably lucky, though, that nobody else did a comic adaptation of an ATWQ passage, so maybe it was also chosen because of the diversity Dante mentioned. But I like to think that I've done a decent job (and I chose one of my favourite passages from ATWQ), even though a number of the other entries are far more pretty to look at.
Also swag (I hope) - yay!
EDIT: Oh yeah and "Updated version" being used as the title is pretty funny, although I guess it's appropriate, since it's an update of prose into graphic form. But yeah, I typed 'updated version' because that's all the time I had before I had to run to catch a bus.

Well done, Terry Craig; I'm really pleased to see you number among the winners. I shouldn't wonder if this also pays more than a little homage to the strength of The Snicket File as a Tumblr, too, since you've done a lot for ATWQ. Well, this is a great start - so far, 100% of the ATWQFanart winners are 667ers. Can we maintain this dream-like high? 12 Days>~- terrycraig's “Updated Version” – selected by Lemony Snicket as one of thirteen winners of the #ATWQFanArt contest. -~<

Say, Terry Craig - didn't occur to me earlier, but have they contacted you yet about sending you your swag? I'm wondering how they're going about it.

Thank you, everyone; I hope to congratulate the others here who participated as well in the following days. Yes, they've sent me a private message asking me for my contacts and my favorite bookstore. I'm really glad about the gift card, because I recently wanted to buy some books that I didn't because I didn't have the dough. Well done, Terry Craig; I'm really pleased to see you number among the winners. I shouldn't wonder if this also pays more than a little homage to the strength of The Snicket File as a Tumblr, too, since you've done a lot for ATWQ. Thanks! I just want to mention that I posted the entry through my personal tumblr, which I don't affiliate to TheSnicketFile in any way, so if they knew I was the same guy they would've had to do the research on 667. I also don't know whether Handler is even aware of TheSnicketFile tumblr, but that would be great, of course.
