So I jumped through the various hoops at Pen's link until I came to 'play this file', and I clicked on that, and nothing happened, so I thought, 'Oh well, the software clearly doesn't work on my computer', and went and did something else, and then five minutes later a mysterious window I hadn't expected appeared, and lo behold, it was Pen's music. Very nice, and a lovely selection of tunes!

Sorry, I don't know what happened to day 3. There was a person for that and I reminded the person, but nothing happened.

Today (Day 4) we have a short quiz.
None of the the following books/short stories was written by Lemony Snicket. Who were they written by?
(Two of them are by the same author. Sorry about this.)
1. The Thirteen Clocks. 2. The Thirteenth Tale. 3. Thirteen at Dinner. (Note: this is the American title; it had a different title in the UK.) 4. The Thirteen-Gun Salute. 5. What is the Name of this Book? 6. Can You Forgive Her? 7. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? 8. Who Censored Roger Rabbit? (Sic.) 9. The Body in the Library. 10. 'The Library Policeman'. 11. 'The Library of Babel'. 12. The Strange Library. 13. The Figure of Beatrice.
I suggest each of you post an answer to just one of these, at least to start off with.

Yes. (So the 'two by one author' have been identified.)

It occurred to me afterwards that I could have had Agatha Christie in all three categories, by including Why Didn't They Ask Evans? This would have been more elegant. Ah well.
Meanwhile, come on people, there are many yet to get.

So it seems that numbers 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, and 11 from Hermes' quiz were solved (just as a tip to see which books are still left to be solved).
I think number 5 is Raymond M. Smullyan. I did use google, however, but this book seems very interesting. Did you read all those books, Hermes, and can you recommend them?

Correct. I think number 5 is Raymond M. Smullyan. Correct. (It is both a puzzle book and a philosophy book.) I'm afraid I haven't read all of them. I definitely recommend Borges and Smullyan, and also The Thirteen Clocks, which I'm surprised no one had got yet.
