I assumed there would be a thread like this already, but I couldn't find one. I can make sounds with a few different instruments, but none of them very well.

I used to play the violin terribly, but now I cbf. My voice is ok, and improving as I use it more (read: crap, but no longer eardrum shattering), tho idk if we're counting that as instrument in this thread

asoue.proboards.com/thread/32481/instruments-playBut that was 2 yrs ago, no reason to not make another thread. Unfortunately I haven't improved on my piano playing at all, but I did start getting back into playing drums, ever since I bought a set, like 2-3 months ago. At first I was kinda worse than I remembered or expected to be, after having learned it for 4 years, but I quickly improved, which was/is fun. I also improved on my singing/playing vocal cords, I think. And I never stopped playing the guitar pretty much daily. I actually played my first lil concert ever a few days ago (in a band).

Nothing about that has changed for me since the other thread, except that I would really like to make more music again but I don't have enough time and motivation.

I started with guitar, but then quit because I sucked. Then I started piano, I really liked it, but I moved to the violin. I tried for a few months (my sister is an amazing violinist) and then, finally, moved to the double-bass. I played it for three-something years and then I started the university and didn't have enough time since then to keep studying. I still have my bass (Uncle Filbur is its name) so I hope someday I'll go back to it. I'd love to sing but I don't have the voice

I'd love to sing but I don't have the voice That's a misconception about singers, though. If you're not tone deaf (and most people aren't), you can learn to sing. There just might be a slightly slower learning curve if you don't have a natural talent (as with everything else).

I still have my bass (Uncle Filbur is its name) Awwww, your bass has a name, you are awesome I always wanted to give my musical instruments names, but I couldn't think of any, except maybe Rosie for the sopranino recorder, because it's made of rose wood.

heey, i did start taking weekly piano lessons like i said i would in that thread. tho last year i started having them once every two weeks, so my progress slowed down considerably. i'm happy with the little i can play now, but i would love to improve my skills. unfortunately, i'm moving this year, and so moving away from my piano teacher, so i don't know what'll happen to my learning situation. i guess i could try to become an autodidact but that be hard. I actually played my first lil concert ever a few days ago (in a band). does this mean you're in a band (if so, what is it called??) or was this a one-off deal, just playing with some peeps?

or was this a one-off deal, just playing with some peeps? Yeah, it was just for this semester with other students from the university (we covered songs that we chose and practised beforehand), but we plan on doing one more concert next month
