what's better, chewing a fresh wad of cotton candy or letting it dissolve on your tongue?

I only had cotton candy once in my life. I was like 7 and attracted to the idea of it, but it turned out to be like eating pure sugar in the form of cotton. Pretty meh.
I'm also not a fan of candy canes for similar reasons. It's just this stick of sugar you have to lick for ages and get sticky fingers from.

it's one of the most unpleasant food textures i've experienced. up there with soft-boiled eggs. so neither is my answer.

chewing it is funny because you get an unexpected dissolution

Chewing it.
I had an ice cream sandwich yesterday that was cotton candy flavored. I have no idea why they said it was that flavor because it tasted nothing like cotton candy, but it was good all the same.
