I've used Tryina for almost all of my social media platforms, but my mom says I should change it for publishing my book as it doesn't have a lot of profitability. I've chosen Tryina as it's pretty easy to remember without the last name, but it's chosen with a Western audience in mind. Thing is, my audience will be Indonesian, but I want to unite all of my works under a single name that intentionally sounds a bit absurd. I'm also too lazy to change all of my social media platforms to a new one.

Lol, ok, I'll add the question.
Should I change my pseudonym?

I like 'Tryina', but I'm western, so I can't say what'll work in Indonesia. If you think it won't work well with an Indonesian audience, I'd say change it.

Just use a common English name like Jane, or something

uh, bear, most books in Indonesia are written by women lolol
Yeah, one of my plans was to blend a common Western name with a common Indonesian surname, but I haven't found any matches yet that doesn't sound Christian or Chinese-Indonesian (I want my race and religion to be ambiguous, and Tryina serves this purpose already.)

I want to believe Bear was making a very obvious joke.
I like Tryina, do you like it? If so, use it. Don't think about profit, think about art.

Yeah, I think your nomme de plume is a big part of your identity as an artist so ultimately you should go with whatever you feel fits you, as an artist, best. If Tryina is what you're happy with, I say stick with Tryina.

I have to add my voice to those saying if you're happy with your penname, don't change it. If you're really concerned with how your name will effect people buying your work (it seems like you're being pragmatic), maybe change the spelling, or make the last name reflect any changes. Why add the extra work when you're not getting anywhere, you're not pleased with what you've found/tried, and it'll cause you to make all those social media changes that may or may not pay off.
