My dedication to being unfathomably weird continues: you may or may not be aware that Disney recently rebooted their DuckTales animated series; you are very very likely unaware that the writers (being the lovable goofballs you'd expect) have taken to making cool-looking movie-posters for episodes which they post on social media. Well, I think this one's really neat.

Looks like it's painted with gouache, which was often used for advertising at the time.

yeah, i know that's what most poster art used to be, but.... i guess it's just a particularly minimal/stylized example. anyway it's rad.

I wasn't commenting on the style, but the paint medium, because you said "pastel" (as in pastel crayons - rather than pastel colors, which I don't see on the poster either).
I agree that this can be a rad (consciously pulp novel-y) style, regardless of what it was painted with.
