Can it be a carpentry teacher or something like that? That would explain the mask and the eye infection and also give Violet some field of action, but would be kinda repetitive considering TMM.

It could be four times a year, if 'semester' means what it ought to. I don't think that's what semester does mean at Prufrock Prep though. In TAA, the Quagmires claimed to have spent three semesters in the orphans shack, but we know that their home didn't burn down until after the events of TRR, since it was deserted when Quigley arrived there. There's no way a year-and-a-half could have passed between TRR and TAA, as the Baudelaires are still the same ages and the fact that Handler confirms at the end of TE that the entire series spanne just one year. That leads me to believe that Nero just imposed his own interpretation of what a "semester" is on the school. I mean, we know that he thinks 9 times 3 is 29 and that "triplets" refer to four babies born at the same time. Who's to say that he doesn't also think a semester really means a few weeks?

At a push, we could interpret "three semesters" as meaning that the Quagmires arrived at the tail-end of one semester, spent the next full semester in the Orphans Shack, and then were moved out just after the beginning of the third, such that they were in there during three Prufrock Prep. semesters but not for the full period. Also, Prufrock Prep. doesn't have weekends, so maybe it doesn't have holidays either, and all the semesters run right into each other so there are more per year than there would be for a normal educational institution. It's obviously not what the text intended, but the intentions of the text obviously changed later, so it's reasonable for us to bend the rules of an already absurd world.
Not that it particularly matters, given that the Quagmires and the Baudelaires appear to be arriving simultaneously in the Netflix series, and presumably will be bunking together in the Orphans Shack; an arrangement which should probably have gone for the original book as well, given that there's no explanation for how the Quagmires were moved out of the Orphans Shack either. I like to think that Nero just moved them out to make room for the Baudelaires.

Well, if 'semester' means a few weeks, the bus may be making a lot more than four trips per year. But in any case, I don't think it's possible to make everything that's said about the Quagmires consistent (e.g. Brett's letter to Lemony in TUA, written at the time of the Baudelaire fire, refers to the 'Quagmire affair' as something already past), so I'm going to go on treating 'semester' as meaning half a year, and just say Lemony is being unreliable about something.

I just stumbled upon this tweet that seems to be from a voice actor in Turkey. The translation says: “to be issued on March 30, the series of unfortunate events 2. Season came to an end in the translation of the voice OFF. @netflixturkiye #Netflix #ASoUE “
March 30 people!!!

I found a couple of podcasts with people who work on the show. The first is with Matty Cardarople (Henchperson of Indeterminate Gender) www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-qzv3b-7c823fthe highlights: He is finished shooting season 2, the show doesn’t use a lot of green/blue screen, season 2 has "quite a few" dance numbers, Olaf’s troupe are very uncoordinated and quite bad at dancing/singing. the other is from one of the show’s writers, Joshua Conkel soundcloud.com/user-350271165the highlights: He wrote the hostile hospital and the grim grotto episodes for season 2 and 3, Heimlich Hospital is very decrepit and diseased, Bo Welch (The Show’s Production Designer) modeled it after abandoned mid-century soviet hospitals complete with rusty beds and flickering lights, Klaus disguises himself as a doctor and is tricked into almost cutting off Violet’s head by Olaf, the script contains a few references to horror films including the Shining, My Bloody Valentine and Let’s Scare Jessica to Death, he doesn't say much about the Grim Grotto except that involves a sea monster.

I remember reading somewhere (although I can't find it at the moment so please take this with a grain of salt) that Netflix requires all their properties to be fully finished at least two weeks before they're set to "air". Considering the fact that the date is exactly two weeks before the hypothetical airtime, it seems more than likely that this is just the cutoff date for post production.

Well if it is march 30 then we should get a trailer this month since it would follow precedent set by last seasons promotion schedule.

The release date might very well be March 30th, but it does seem a bit odd that they would schedule the release date just a couple of weeks from one of the only two Friday the 13th's in the year. A trailer release does seem very likely this month though, and if not this one then it's a dead certainty by January.
:Edit:If they release one in the next few weeks then the marketing and theme will probably not be hard to guess. (I do wonder if Netflix would allow jokes about seasonal depression in their announcement trailers, I for one would hope so).

It looks like Season 2 is going to pick up right where Season 1 ends, judging from the first picture. Carmelita looks directly lifted from the opening illustration in TAA, which is great. So far I really like the sets and costumes of the TAA episodes.
I think this was practically confirmed already, but it looks like Olaf really does appear in person rather than just voice in THH. I would have been surprised if they'd made two whole episodes where their main actor gets as little screentime as Olaf did in that book. Curious to hear the Mattathias voice that they're hyping up.
I'm surprised and excited that they're going with the whole 'Olaf gradually losing his mind from chasing the Baudelaires' interpretation. I mean, I do think it's there in the books, but there it mostly seems a convenient excuse for his plans getting more and more far-fetched and full of flaws.

It's so surreal and strange that this is our first time seeing Esme on screen. Oddly, she looks perfectly in line with what I had imagined- Maybe it was because we already knew very far in advance that Lucy Punch would be playing her, but my response to these images is very different than seeing Justice Strauss or Aunt Josephine or even Phil and Doctor Orwell for the first time. I can't complain at all, though, since she looks the part entirely. That nurse outfit is an absolute mess, I really love it.
Regarding THH's picture... could this be from the end of the 8th episode, thus explaining the Henchperson of Indeterminate Gender's absence?

I just went to link the original post, but it looks like he deleted his comment. Here's where someone posted about it on Twitter:

Here's where someone posted about it on Twitter: I feel like Matty's joking here, purposefully acting like he's supposed to make it to S3. I feel like that she's exactly in line with his sense of humor. In the picture, all of the henchpeople are looking distraught and concerned, while Olaf marches along uncaring. I could definitely be wrong, but I do think this is from the end of THH.
