i think her music is great and it's such a shame her mental health related controversies from years ago ruined her career when arguably more problematic men like xxxtentacion or 6ix9ine are dominating the charts and everyone is turning a blind eye

idk, imo she’s always singing these wack, cheesy melodies like she’s flexing her voice or something and she really ain’t that good. much prefer the rappin
but yeah the beats aren't working as much anymore either
i do dig some of her stuff from fantasea/1991/broke with expensive taste tho, 1991 is my fav song of hers may b

Azealia Banks is a talented rapper, no doubt. I was a fan of hers before she began behaving in a childish and obnoxious fashion on social media. Had she simply opened up about her mental health problems, I would have had no issue.
But there is no excuse for racist rants, homophobic insults, and other nasty threats against other people. There is even less excuse for recreational skin-lightening when you have repeatedly claimed that you are speaking for black women. Again, if she had simply addressed problems facing darker skinned women, I would have simply agreed with her.
IF she is turning over a new leaf, then great. As it happens, I prefer her older material. I still think that "212" (the first song of hers that I ever heard) is a great jam, and I did actually like the vocals that she provided there. I was attracted to her edgy style (pigtails, cool jumper, slick rhymes). I was pleased to see a rapper who wasn't as trite and manufactured as Nicki Minaj.
I hope she can turn over a new leaf.
