Part 1 Chapter 1
The Internet, a vast and seemingly infinitely expanding body of water. Somewhere in the Internet is a Site called Dark Avalon, which is where this story starts. Two people wearing white robes with yellow fabric tied across their waists were walking on the shores of Dark Avalon. "It's been quiet for days," one of them said. They had blondish hair and wore glasses. "My premonitions say it won't be for long," said the other. She had long brown hair and always had an inquisitive look on her face. "They're called dreams, Roxy." "They're called shutting up!" Roxy replied. She playfully wacked her friend's arm. They both laughed and tumbled down to the black sand. The laughing continued for a bit, until Roxy noticed a figure a few sand hills away from them. "Wait, Ollie-" She pointed over to the figure. It walked over to them, and as it got closer, they identified the figure as Anka. She was older than both of them, and she wore the same white robes, but donned a red cloth instead of a yellow one. "Good day," Roxy said. "Good day," Ollie said. "Good day," Anka said. "You two are to follow me. The Ghost King demands every active Avalonist's presence." The two younger Avalonists exchanged looks and when they turned back to Anka, she was already speed walking away. "Your dream might have been right," Ollie said.

Part 1 Chapter 2
"Have you ever seen the Ghost King?" Ollie asked Roxy, as they continued following the slightly older woman. "No, only the Moderators have seen him in recent years. Though I have heard rumors of him." Roxy told Ollie of a great man, who could make any beast cower before him. A man who could control the elements, materialize structures out of thin air. She told Ollie all these tales and more as the three Avalonists made their way to a castle in the center of the Site. It was a humongous castle made of black bricks and gold mortar, gold domes sat on top of pillars. It was a symbol of prosperity, power, riches--especially rich in knowledge. The draw bridge was lowered and on second hand nature, Roxy and Ollie tried making their way to the dining hall, but Anka pulled them to a different direction. The throne room. Roxy and Ollie couldn't tell because it was filled with every active Avalonist, but it was a long room—much like the dining hall—with pillars, statues, and banners. At the very end was a tall throne, with stained glass window behind it. Anka shoved through the crowd to join a group off to the side. They had the same red cloth as her. As everyone in the throne room settled in their spots, a voice spoke to all of them in their heads. "The Internet grows restless, and if we are to maintain our standard of living on this Site, new measures must be taken into effect. Starting tonight, all Avalonists will bear our mark. One by one, you will go to the left of the room and meet with our marker. Proceed."

Part 1 Chapter 3
The Avalonists did as instructed, even if they didn't particularly want to. Urbanletteropener was one of the last people in line to get marked, so instead of the smiling and happy marker, he got the frowning and tired marker. She was a young adult, much like Urbanletteropener, and had real freckles, unlike Urbanletteropener, who often drew freckles on himself. She was wielding a needle-like tool, a tool that looks much scarier when being held by someone who looks like they are one bad joke away from doing something malicious. "Hello, my name is Twiggy. Sit right there. Lay your arm down right here. Lift your sleeve up like this. Stay quiet like that. Stop moving or I'll use this. Thank you for your cooperation." The marking process was much like getting a tattoo, but more painful. Urbanletteropener looked at his shoulder and convinced himself the stinging sensation would subside soon. However short, the marking left him tired, so he retired to his house in the town just outside the castle. Most of the houses were closed or destroyed. It was like this when Urbanletteropener first arrived at Dark Avalon, but had worsened in the last few years. He sighed to himself and went to sleep.

Part 1 Chapter 4
Ollie and Roxy were both holding their shoulders as they left the castle. "Why do you think the Ghost King wants us to have these?" Ollie asked. "I haven't the faintest idea," Roxy replied, looking at her shoulder. "Perhaps it's to make people feel more connected." "Possibly." They discussed their theories as they made their way to the outskirts of of the Site, which was somewhere between the shore and the center of Dark Avalon. The outskirts held many secrets, which led to many nosy Avalonists wandering around and some were even never heard from again. Nor were they ever talked about again, as certain people wanted. Ollie and Roxy were nosy enough to explore the outskirts, but they were also clever enough to not go missing. The outskirts were a forest with very old buildings here and there. The trees didn't have any leaves and they almost looked rotting. They resembled leathery arms sticking out of the ground, with thousands of fingers looking for something to grab. "My shoulder is starting to feel better," Roxy stated. "Mine too." "We shouldn't stay out too long tonight, I want to check the shores and see if anything has washed up." "Awww! C'mon! No one else is brave enough to explore with me," Ollie pleaded. "We haven't found anything exciting, but tonight might finally be that night." "Why is tonight different from all other nights?" Roxy asked. Before Ollie could answer, the two of them heard noises coming from behind a tree. They instantly stopped and turned silent, waiting for the noise to happen again. Whatever made the noise from behind the tree ran off, and the two Avalonists chased after it. They ran deep into the outskirts and when they finally stopped, they were exhausted, bruised, and cut up. "Those—hu—trees are relentless," Ollie panted. "Yeah—heh—but so are—heh—we," Roxy replied. She pointed to a brick building to where they followed the source of the noise. They caught their breaths, and walked into the old building.

Part 1 Chapter 5
The two young Avalonists were immediately greeted by a foul stench. If the trees outside looked like rotting flesh, the inside of the building smelled like it. Although, they couldn't tell why, because they were completely alone in the building. "Why were you stalking us?" Roxy shouted at the empty space. "I wasn't. I was going home, and you two followed me," a voice replied, seemingly from nowhere. Ollie and Roxy looked all around, but couldn't see anyone. "Are you invisible?" The former asked. "Yes." "What's your name?" Ollie asked. "I just said my name was Invisible." Invisible had been an Avalonist longer than both Roxy and Ollie. She was a recluse and only ventured into the main part of the Site when it was required of her. "I went to the castle to get my mark, which proved a bit difficult due to my uhh—you know. Twiggle or, whatever her name was, had to use invisible stuff for me. Now it will only show when exposed to heat." "What's that smell?" One of the younger Avalonists asked. "My compost. I have a garden out back." "Oh..." Roxy said. She was disappointed that this was all her adventure had come to. "It was nice seeing—umm—talking to you, but we should probably head back to town." "Follow my voice, it's easy to get lost out there."

Part 1 Chapter 6
That same night, a person washed up on the black sand of Dark Avalon. Roxy never ended up going to the shores, she was too exhausted. The person clawed at the sand and tried to pull themselves up. They were covered in wounds. They tried to muster all their strength, but they couldn't stand up, but they heard someone stepping closer to them. "H—Hello?" It was too dark for them too see anything. "Quite the injures you have there," a voice said. It was low, but seemed like it was hiding a laugh. "Y—Yes, my name is Lemon. I come from Tumblr, and my ship was destroyed somehow." "That sounds very unfortunate," the mysterious Avalonist said, helping Lemon to his feet. The two of them started walking. "Tumblr is so far away, what would you be doing all the way out here?" "Where is here?" Lemon asked. "Dark Avalon, of course. But I'm guessing you knew that." "I contemplated it." The two walked for a while, but they didn't get too much distance, due to Lemon's broken leg. The mysterious Avalonist tisked, and started dragging him. "Are you taking me to your leader?" Lemon asked. "Of course, he'd love to see you." But they were not going from the shores to the castle, they were traveling into the outskirts. "My ship had a dozen or so people, should you go check for them too? In case any of them washed up." "No, you were the 13th." If Lemon was walking, he would have frozen. He tried to fight back, but he was far too weakened to succeed. The Avalonist threw Lemon next to 12 cold bodies, "I'll ask you again, what were you doing all the way out here?"

End of Part 1
A person with long dark hair woke up in a humongous bed. She got out and looked outside the nearest window. The view from atop Ebony Tower, the tallest part of the castle, was grand. You could see everything, from the black shores to the bustling streets. Such a view was restricted to only the most valuable Avalonists, and such the Queen Bee got to enjoy it. She gathered her robes, which included a silver cloth, and traveled down the tower. As the Queen on Dark Avalon, she had many responsibilities, taking on even more as the Ghost King secluded himself more from his subjects. She even posed as his voice on several occasions, such as last night. The tasks of running a Site are very difficult, and as such, she has a handful of people who are positioned in particular selections of Dark Avalon. They keep things nice and clean, and are noticeable by the red cloths they bare. Queen Bee reached the bottom of the tower and made her way to the throne room. She looked upon the chair at which the room was named after. It rejected everyone but the Ghost King himself, and so the Queen sat on the throne next to it. A man with a beard and curly hair walked into the room. "Menacing Miscellaneous has been busy as usual, but nothing serious has happened," he reported. "Hmm, good. And what of everything else, Zortegus?" "People have been wanting the newspaper to be put back into production." "Fine, but this time you better keep a tighter leash on what gets published, or I'll find someone that can," Queen Bee stated. With that, Zortegus took his leave. Queen Bee continued listening to all the reports of the day, Anka told her about remains of a ship on the shore—news that was not new to her. ViolentBunFortunate informed her of some protests to Queen Bee's position in power. After all the meetings, she rubbed her temple. "Tired, my Queen?" A voice said. She turned her gaze to a dark corner, and saw someone wearing dirty and tattered robes. He also possessed no colored cloth. "Tired of people, as I'm sure you heard." "At least you have 13 less people to deal with," the person said with a stiffled laugh. "What business did they have?" "The Sites of the Internet aren't too fond of us. They're plotting something. We can no longer take scouts out, we have to go and deal with the issue." "I know, that's why the marks were given. They will aid us well." "Dark Avalon will finally seek its revenge, in honor of the Ghost King; The Tragedie of the Internet."
