I didn't think it was hard at all. My brother was playing with one of his friends and they left the pieces out and now Klaus has no head. Ouch.

I have that game. It's pretty fun and easy. Only, he can put you in timeout. Isn't that just disgraceful?

The game is ok, but Count Olaf mostly never wins! That sucks!

You could play several characters yourself. I used to do that with Monopoly.
Which is probably pretty sad...

It can be played with just two players, or you can play against yourself if you're so inclined.
I've tried making variations on the rules, because the Baudelaires always seemed to win. For instance, I made a little cardboard Esme and/or henchmen to assist Olaf, but that seemed to give him too much of an advantage. I remember creating some variant on the game where Olaf could "burn the house down", placing a counter on a square every turn, rendering that square accessible only to him. But it's been ages since I played this game.

I got it for Christmas, except the newer edition with the new boxart and everything. It is quite difficult. The board is very small, especially with all the little chips and characters all over the place, so you'll often knock things down, move them, and have to move them back. Rules are pretty easy. LOTS to keep track of, though. Good game. It's a lot like 13 Dead End Drive if anyone has ever played that. I totally agree with everything you said. Yes, it is a lot like 13 Dead End Drive.

I <3 1313 Dead End Drive, so..... I get the ideer.
EDIT: I have this game now. LOL I was such a really cool member back then. But pewter bends easily, so I constatnly have to bend the pieces back into shape. I'm surprised that they haven't broken off by now....

Question:
I have found it difficult to win this game as Olaf. May I or may I not use multiple Tragedy cards in one turn?

I think the key to winning as Olaf is to play your Tragedy cards right away before the orphans collect enough tiles to thwart Olaf. Playing those cards is the only way to move the guardian toward the grave.
I'd have to check the rules, but I should think you can only play one card per turn.
