...for the midnight party tonight and the read that follows? I'm planning to read it for as long as I can stay awake post-midnight, so I'm getting the most energy I possibly can. I'm going to go carb-crazy, I've already had two slices of wheat bread with maple syrup and now I'm having pasta. I'm planning to get apples during the day since they wake you up more than coffee does. I'm going to eat no unnatural sugary products so my energy stays throughout the day and night. How will you be doing it, or if you post later, how did you do it?

I unfortunately woke up at 6:00 AM today. I usually wake up around 10 when I have nothing to do. Sheesh, any day but this! I'm trying to stay as awake as I can so I can go 24 hours without sleep. I'm not sure how much time I'll need to read it, HBP took 22 hours with a nap in between since I was half-asleep from more than 24 hours without sleep. I had to read over passages twice a lot. XD

I'm not going at midnight, but mine is coming through UPS. So, I'm going to be pacing my living room waiting for the UPS truck to come. Which, according to Amazon is anywhere between Noon and 7pm.

ever since i decided to re-read the OotP for the movie and stayed up until 4 a.m. i've gotten into the slightly bad habit of sleeping in til about 2:30 and then staying up until about 5 a.m. so i am READY FOR THIS! i'll probably load up on caffine and sugar just to stay up extra late - err, early.

To tell the truth, i dont really get a thrill out of reading it late at night, i'd rather prefer to be lazing around in my back garden, with the sun shining down, a glass of iced juice in one hand and a copy of DH in the other.

Came out at 9 AM in Australia, so I didn't have to worry about anything. Bought the book, and literally didn't stop reading until I'd finished it, 8 hours later. I was walking around the apartment and pouring myself drinks and eating cookies all the while reading. Good stuff.

I got my book at 12:30 and got home one. Just sat in my computer chair and read nonstop for four hours and finished.

I got it a little after midnight, and then I finished the last fifteen minutes of PoA (I had watched most of it before I left). Then I started reading, and I read until 6:30. I did not feel drowsy until that time, and I just let my self fall asleep. After I had rested, I finished the rest of it. I'm not quite sure how long it took, less than the nine hours I read OotP in, but not much less.

1/3 of the way through so far, currently taking a break for food, and already it is turning out to be my favorite of the series.

I didn't need to do anything special for staying up after the release party-I was awake on excitement. I didn't need anything to help me then, I just kept reading, though it did take me awhile.

I didn't count how long it took, but I read for hours after midnight and I slept, not knowing at what time I woke up.

I got by on Coca-Cola and chocolate! This has been a heck of a weekend, though. I got my book at midnight, and read until 4:30 a.m. I napped until 6:30 a.m. (all the while dreaming that I was Harry being chased down a country road by Death Eaters), then read until about 11:00 a.m. Then we had to go to a family campout/reunion, by which time I'd only read about half the book! The suspense reigned until we got home at 5:00 p.m., and read until 7:30 when unexpected overnight guests arrived. I had to wait until they went to bed to finish. I finally finished at about 1:30 a.m. Whew! Now it's 3:15 a.m., and I'm not tired at all.
