Amazon is now listing the release date as the first of October, next year. Which if it turns out to be true, means that it will be released exactly 20 years and a day to the original US publication of The Bad Beginning.

I think I did it, guys. Sorry. Really? I thought Stanley Kubrick faked the whole thing on a soundstage?

They've been quite clear about the series being seven episodes long This has always confused me, because every other book gets two episodes. But there are four books left, and some basic multiplication tells me there should be eight episodes. Is the last episode just going to be one long episode? Yes. And it has also been confirmed to an adaptation of both the Beatrice Letters and The End.

I have a feeling that by around the end of December we'll have some idea as to the season's release date. We'll likely either have a trailer (teaser or otherwise) and or some other kind of marketing push, perhaps akin to the pictures on the official IG account circa December 2017.

Honestly, I doubt season 3 will be released in January, or we probably would have gotten a trailer by now. The first friday-the-thirteenth in 2019 is September 13th, but they're obviously not going to wait that long to release it. Therefore, I believe that, just like in 2018, they'll release it on Passover, which, in 2019, will be April 19th. I do like your thinking but that does seem a bit unlikely given that Netflix has A) never released the show outside of the first quarter of the year before, and B) after the first season, seems to have given up on the idea of themed release dates. The fact that Season 2 was released on the beginning of Passover seems to have been more of a lucky coincidence than an active decision as it was never brought up in any of the marketing. Plus, one of the members of the Unfortunate Associates podcast did mention on Reddit that Joe Tracz told him he thought Season 3 might be released in January. And it's also worth considering that lately, Netflix has really cut down on the marketing time their shows have. Many of their newest originals have simply had a full trailer released about three weeks before the show itself drops. In fact, the same thing also happened with Season 2, with only a couple of small teaser trailers before the "proper" trailer dropped, almost three weeks before March 30th. I don't want that to be the case with ASOUE, but I feel like we may need to consider it a possibility so we don't feel too disappointed if the marketing isn't at Season 1(or even 2)'s levels.

If we take the November release date as a given (which it seems pretty safe to do) then Season 2's potential release dates are: November 2nd- Unlikely, as the last season of House of Cards is premiering on this date. November 9th- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. November 16th- Unlikely, as the first seasons of The Kominsky Method and the She-Ra reboot are premiering on this date. November 23rd- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date and it's the same week as the Netflix versions of books 10-13 are set to be released. November 30th- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date and it's exactly 8 months to the day that season 2 premiered. Since we now know that Season 3 is not being released this November but instead next year, I've drawn up a new list of potential release dates. I'm assuming that much like the first two seasons, it will be released during the first quarter of the year (start of January- end of March). This list is still highly provisional of course and subject to change with any new developments. January 4th- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. January 11th- Unlikely, as the second season of Friends From College is premiering on this date. January 18th- Unlikely, as Netflix is premiering their original movie Girl on this date. January 25th- Unlikely, as Netflix is premiering the final season of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on this date. February 1st- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. February 8th- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. February 15th- Unlikely, as the first season of the Umbrella Academy is premiering on this date. February 22nd- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. March 1st- Unlikely as Netflix is premiering the first season of Cannon Busters on this date. March 8th- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. March 15th- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. March 22nd- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date. March 29th- Potentially, as there are currently no other Netflix programs being released on this date.

The release date has been moved back to March 26th and the HarperCollins website has uploaded a new description: Looking for wit, wisdom, and inspiration all within the pages of one useful book? Read Something Else.
Life is a turbulent journey, fraught with confusion, heartbreak, and inconvenience. This collection of wit and wisdom from New York Times bestselling author Lemony Snicket is unlikely to help.
It includes a new introduction filled with curious aphorisms, a handful of never-before-seen-or-heard quotations, and fan favourites from works over the years. These dubious offerings, collected from Snicket’s books, unpublished papers, and more, have been made pleasing to the eye by illustrations, select fan art, and design flourishes.

I have to say, I'm rather surprised at HarperCollins' reticence at releasing the full cast audiobooks at all.
I understand why they might not feel it worth justifying financially if they don't want to pay for the cost of printing TBB: Private Library Edition and the Penny Dreadful versions of books 4,5 [and 6?] or pressing the Bad Beginning full cast audiobook on Vinyl.
But they could easily release the full cast version of TRR [and TWW and TMM?] onto digital audio streaming, without having any physical manufacturing costs. They would literally not have to pay for anything since it's already been made and can be distributed without costing them a dime.

The vinyl audio releases seem to have been scuttled, as I can't find much evidence of their existence after HarperCollins' initial press release from January. :Edit: A similar thing seems to have happened with the full cast edition of the Reptile Room. It was supposed to be released in the summer, but I can't find it anywhere now. Thats... deeply disappointing. I was actually really looking forward to this. I'd never heard the full cast version before, either. At least the full cast version of TBB can still be bought on CD and streamed via audible. It's quite interesting to listen to as a one-off and I do think the fact that HarperCollins haven't seen fit to release the versions that were made for TRR and TWW is a bit of a shame. For anyone who has never listened to it before, here's a 6-minute sample of the full-cast TBB from the Audible website.

Just realized I never posted pictures of the ASOUE set clothing I got! I got it from a reseller, who got it from the auction that happened this summer. I'm hoping these materials pop up on screen (if they haven't been somewhere in the first two seasons), but I got a good deal on it so even if not, I get to say I own them and have some interesting clothes to wear. (Somehow the clothing of Violet, Kit, AND Count Olaf all fit me? No such luck with Sunny, however.) I should get my copy of TIHOSO tomorrow, so before I dive into that hysteria for the next month, here they are! Also if anyone know how to interpret the information on the tags, that'd be cool! Count Olaf ShirtKit Maternity Dress with tag (the dress interestingly has several dirt smudges near the bottom) Sunny DressMystery Poncho (since it's clearly not Violet's in TSS, I'm thinking it may be a background piece from TRR episodes - when the Quagmire parents are in Peru)Violet Dress #1 with tag (I'm think it's maybe an alternative to her pink whale dress in TBB - the color is so similar) Violet Dress #2 with tag Violet Dress #3Two Olaf hats (both hats are marked with his name on the inside) Assorted JewelryMasquerade Mask from the VFD ball (one of my favorite things because this scene always makes me emotional - the mask has found a nice home on my ASOUE shelf)And that's it! Sorry for the super long post! Oh, and if anyone happens to recognize anything from the show, please let me know! I've tried to go through my ASOUE Encyclopedia brain, but there are surely gaps and things I've missed/forgotten. I don't remember where a lot of these props appeared, but Sunny's dress looks a bit like the one seen in this behind the scenes photo from the end of filming on TE. https://www.instagram.com/p/BinbkXKn0mP :Edit: This reminds me of a prop from season 3 that was being sold on eBay a few months ago. [I'm not entirely sure about when and where it is going to appear on the show. Maybe in the Hotel Denouement's kitchen?]

So, I thought it would be nice to discuss this, now that we have cracked the code. But in a separate thread from the book’s, so that other members don’t get spoiled. The code goes: TWO SETS OF FRIENDS JUST OUT OF REACH WILL MEET AGAIN ON BRINY BEACH. So, some thoughts: - Why “just out of reach” ? It’s a very vague, weird phrase. How can they be out of reach if they’re going to meet again? Out of whose reach? They're out of each others' reach. [Also, the line has to rhyme with "beach".]

The Slippery Slope: Part One (Script Extracts from TIHOSO) INT. COUNT OLAF'S CAR - DAY And here's SUNNY, on ESMÉ's lap in the passenger seat. She gives Esmé's hand a little bite. Esmé YELPS and pulls her hand away.
ESMÉ SQUALOR
OW!
She sets Sunny on the floor. We see COUNT OLAF is driving. THE HENCHPERSON OF INDETERMINATE GENDER is next to him; the BALD MAN, the HOOK-HANDED MAN, and the WHITE-FACED WOMEN are in back and, as Rick James used to say, the FREAKS are in the trunk.
EMSÉ SQUALOR (CONT'D)
The baby keeps biting me.
COUNT OLAF
Well, put her in the glove compartment. EXT. MORTMAIN MOUNTAINS - DAY The Mysterious Gloved Woman reaches the edge of the cliff. She tucks the sugar bowl into her bag and looks around. Two figures appear behind her: THE MAN WITH A BEARD BUT NO HAIR and THE WOMAN WITH HAIR BUT NO BEARD. That's a lot to type so we'll call them THE SINISTER DUO for short. They're older and elegantly dressed, in clothes that seem eerily out of place on a snowy mountain. Their voices drip with menace.
