It isn't good for you to look at a screen close-up for a long period of time I try and sit about 0.8 metres away from the computer screen and I'm usually 3metres from the TV

Well my eyes never hurt when I am on the PC, but when it's around night time I get bad eyes, but a good nights sleep makes em' better again!

If you stare at a computer or TV too long it is possible that you may end up needing glasses.

Yes. Reading too much can also lead to such consequences as wearing glasses aswell.
