What kind of quirky habits do you have? Silly little things that you do for no apparent reason.
I always count each step when I go up or down a flight of stairs. Don't know why, but I've done it for years.
What do you do?

I polish my Oboe when I get too paranoid in band class.

When I see a rug on a tile floor, I have the urge to straighten it out so the edges line up with the tiles. And when I walk on tile floors or patterned carpets, I find myself aligning my feet with the tiles or pattern.

I try to go up every flight of stairs in twos, and I check to see if there's an odd or even number of stairs as I go. And I try to straighten things out on desks so that their flat edges are parallel to the edges of the desk. And when I'm walking home, I try to take an equal number of steps with each foot on different types of road material (this gets really tricky when I only half-step on an odd part of the path, and sometimes I have to actually stop and do it properly, or fit in the right number of steps).

I twirl my hair when I'm in deep thought. Also, I remember my pages in my books, even though I'm going to finish it later on. It's because I always lose bookmarks, so I have to remember book pages for continuing them. And it's just been a habit.

And when I walk on tile floors or patterned carpets, I find myself aligning my feet with the tiles or pattern. I do the same thing. Another thing I do, is that I always have a certain way to go up or down stairs (for example, if there's a post on a particular step to hold up the railing, I try to step with the foot further away from the post)... on staircases I use a lot, I've basically memorized which foot to step first with, and if I start with the wrong one, I always feel awkward and off-balance.

I count how many letters and words there are in names, song titles, etc. I don't know why.

I kinda do that too. Except I always "type" words in my head to see if there are even number of letters that the right and left hand would type. (Does that make sense?) So in a way, there are good words and bad words, depending on if they're "even".

Ha, me too! I like even numbers much more than odd ones, so.

I always count each step when I go up or down a flight of stairs. Me too! It's kind of just something I do automatically without thinking much about it. Another habit is tapping my foot to any music that I hear. I don't think about it while I do it, either.

And I try to straighten things out on desks so that their flat edges are parallel to the edges of the desk. Same. For instance, I see a pile of books; I straighten them out so that they are all neat. And I keep walking in knight-shaped patterns on tiled floors. Like an L-shape.

Whenever I run I count my steps.
Whenever I brush my hair I brush it all back and then I brush it to the sides.
I flex my muscles to music.

Whenever I am in the library and I see a book series on the shelves, the books are usually not in numerical order on the shelves, so I always straighten them and put them in order. This will usually happen with ASOUE. If I don't do it, it starts to annoy me.
