I hate Bush! Agfagfhgfk! I really have nothing else to say about that because I just went off in a tagent to my mom. She blinked alot and said she was missing American Idol. And thats another thing. People who say 'oh this wrong'. Why? Oh because it's in the bible. You have to have another reason because the bible says so, you cannot put blind faith into a book that contradicts itself everyself chapter. Put your faith in God, fine, at least know why you think his reasons mean something.

I know some people actually cut themselves because they have serious problems. I empathize. My brother (who is a paranoid schizophrenic, you know, voices in the head, seeing people bleeding from their eyes, that kind of thing) actually nearly killed himself via cutting. He's better now if you're wondering. He's on meds.
But I have serious issues with the ones who think that OH MY GOD MY HISTORY TEACHER IS SO MEAN I'm going to cut myself with a straight razor from the bathroom now kthx. Those people make the world suck. Hey there attention monkeys, go get yourself a life.
Also, Linkin Park's music grates on me like a thousand cacti raping my ears. But this conversation isn't about them, really. If you like them, good.
...and how does dressing like thousands of other people make you an individual, anyway? That's one thing I don't understand. Why go to Hot Topic and buy a thirty-five dollar anarchy shirt when you can go home, slice up an old black T-shirt, spraypaint it on there, cut some holes in fishnet stockings and a black skirt and voila, you look nearly as classy as people who shop at HT, you did it for really cheap and you can truly claim you're an individual. (One of my best friends actually did this before I met her. She outgrew the entire thing. GO FIGURE.)
The only thing I buy at HT are the Nintendo shirts anyway. The Nightmare Before Christmas stuff I can get at Suncoast. X3333

[glow=red,2,300]a solution to cutting? yea, therapy and being determined to stop it[/glow] Hum? No, I meant, 'Is cutting even a solution to anything?". Bush gets on everyone's nerves...it's part of the job discription.

Bush doesn't get just get on my nerves. He's the cloest I've ever gotten to hating someone. When we first talked about him before he was elected I turned to my friend and said "He's gonna start a war and kill us all." He hasn't done the latter yet but if he gets elected to a second term, who knows, he'll start a war with someone who actually has weapons of mass descruction.

Generally I try to ignore Bush and pretend he'll go away soon. But trying to pass a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage? Nice way to totally alienate all the thinking people in the US, Georgie Porgie. At this rate Canada's population is going to potato ing skyrocket.

Yes I screamed and yelled my head off already about the gay marriage thing. Bush is the potato ing president, he is not God, which is who I think he wants to be sometimes. What annoys me more is that he's going to get the catholic votes, just because he's potato ing catholic and for no other reason.
But Nader's running! I'm happy about this. But my rant would be people won't vote for him he choose not to be just a democrat or republican. I love Nader, this makes me so happy.

Personally, I am against gay marriage. Not that I hate all homosexuals, I just don't agree with them. A marriage is a bond between a man and a woman, and has been for thousands of years. And suddenly, these people now want to change that. Go ahead, have a bond with another person of the same sex, but don't change the definition of marriage just to fit your 'needs.'
Another thing I don't like is people who claim that the Bible contradicts itself. Have you ever even read it? Give me an example of a place where it does this (and make sure you read everything around it, to make sure you're taking it in the right context).
As for Bush, people would be mad at him no matter what he did involving Iraq. If we hadn't gone in, there would be people saying things to the effect of, "What are we waiting for? If we don't get them soon, they'll get us!" etc. It's impossible to please everybody.
I like stuff from Hot Topic. I got a really cool pair of boots from there. I also bought a trenchcoat, but I returned it because I found a better one at a different goth store (which I actually think is it's own store, not owned by Gap... does anyone else have a PhaseID near them?). Anyways, I like the goth style. That's just the way I am. Ironically, I also like some stuff at Gap. I just get what I like. It doesn't fit with a set mould, it's just me, whether it's jeans and a t-shirt or a trenchcoat and safety pins (in the coat, not in me, I'm not that goth).
As for when teachers are mean, sometimes that can drive a person crazy. I had an orchestra teacher for a while who was really mean and annoying. Around that time period, if I ever thought of suicide (which I did at times, and I'd imagine everyone has thoughts of it at some point, whether they really mean it or not), it was usually because of her. That she stressed me out a lot during my Mental Breakdown Week wasn't that good either (a week where some little thing got to me every day and caused me to start bawling, no matter how insignificant it was... although looking back it was good because I think she was sorry that she made me cry and so gave me a new string for my violin (the broken string was what got me stressed in the first place), and they're rather expensive).

Oh but we change the definiton of marriage just to fit our needs. We get married for money, for looks, we get married for class, thats been going on for thousands of years is that good? Forced marriage? Young girls had to get married at 14 because that was tradition. That was how it was. We changed that, because it wasn't right. If you say we need to do things because they'd been done that way for thousands of years then us women would still be second class citizens, same with african americans. Sometimes you've got to change things, if they are unfair.
My basic reason for wanting gay marriage. I want more than anything to be happy and I've got no idea how I'm gonna do that. I see all these homosexuals who would just be so much happier if they could live in a martial union with they life partner. I think everyone has the right to happiness, and if thats how they get there, more power to 'em.

I admit, the "Gets on people's nerves" was pretty tame...
I've never found Bush to be a competant leader either...the gay marriage thing really got on my nerves. What, if anything, does it matter that two people of the same sex want to get married? They've got the right to happiness/misery just as every one else does. I haven't seen a valid point against it yet, other than apparently God doesn't much care for it...and considering we have this thing called Seperation of Church And State, that really doesn't have much to do with anything, does it? Then there's the war thing...I respect the whole "I wanted to protect the country" idea, in a way, but for god's sake, was there even a point to this? We weren't in danger. So...we just killed a bunch of people for nothing, pretty much. Did we get rid of Saddam? Yeah. But the Iraqi people are still pretty horribly off anyway, so it's not as if our interference really had much of an effect whatsoever.
Hot Topic-I've never seen the originality in it either...it's kind of funny that rebuking trends is a trend, but it's nothing short of expected.
Someday, I will take pictures of all the people I see wearing the same "originality" t-shirts from Hot Topic, and then make a collage. 'Twill be funness.

Yeah. People want to get married, no one ever cared to who until two people of the same sex showed up at a justice of the peace.
I despise war. We went to war and we free people from some horrible leader but what's the point, if we're just going to kill the innocents in the crossfire? And Operation Irqai Liberation? C'mon that was just common sense.

[glow=red,2,300]i don't think that the government should be in charge of anything involving relationship (like marriages/abortions specifically) because it is not their decision. it upsets me too that they feel that they can control all of these things because of their political power. what if some 12 year old girl god forbid gets raped and pregnant? is she not supposed to get an abortion? i know its a touchy subject but it really annoys me [/glow]

I dunno, I mean, God always struck me as kind of a mean guy. I mean, apparently he tells you to go burn down a town if they don't worship him (Dt 13-17), at the end of her period a girl has to kill a dove and burn another as a sacrifice for her "unclean discharge," (Lv 15:16-33) you can't give yourselves tattoos, shave the sides of your head or trim your beards (Lv 19:17-18), you can stone your kid if he's rebellious (Dt 21:18-21), your whole family if they try to change your religion (Dt 13:6-10), and that a girl has to marry a rapist if he's caught in the act (Dt 22:23-29).
Also, if someone decides to just screw the Bible and follow their own moral compass, Yahweh's anger burns against him or her, single this person out for misfortunate and blot his/her name out from under heaven (Dt 28:19-20).
I guess that's why I'm atheist. Oops! I guess I'm not allowed into heaven now. Oh well.

Did I say my beliefs were superior Swans? I don't think I did, heh I wasn't even sure I was spelling 'superior' right, I was just trying to rant and say how I think. I don't care wether anyone agrees with me or not, and I certainly don't think you have to share my opinions. I like when people don't agree with me because then I get to agrue my point and I love agruing. I don't think you can just base whatever you beleive in on the bible. That's my point of view. If you go off on a rant saying how you're going to scream and I can't tell you what to do, when I wasn't even trying to, I don't think you should be telling me how to act and what to say and I think you're the one being a hypocrite.
And the bible doesn't contradict itself? Even my religion teachers have told me that bible does just that. If you start at the begining, there are two creation stories. Two different versions of how the world came into being. They kinda seem to clash and contradict to me.
Hmm. All thats intresting Madamluna, I hadn't heard it before. Thats a another reason I don't think I can follow or just put my blind faith into what the bible says. In that time the sick and women were treated terribly, and if we were to keep following that, we wouldn't get much better treatment today. Some men actually think they can treat women worse because it's in the bible. I don't think God would women treated like crap in his name, or anyone for that matter.
Oh Swans, if you did find something wrong with what I said, it was more directed to the way I think my mother is, not anyone else.
