ok, today at lunch, we were talking about Disney movies. My friend Jesse mentioned that he found on this website (he forgot the name of it) but he said it said that some of the older Disney movie (ie. the little mermaid, snow white, those kinds of movies) contained subliminal messages. I don't know if this is where he found them, but here's where I found more specific information: www.eonline.com/News/Items/0%2C1%2C146%2C00.htmlwww.snopes.com/disney/films/lionking.htmwhat are your opinions?

I love snopes.com. Best. website. Ever. I love hte glurgle section, and I love the Disney subliminal messages. I love any mention of sick distortion in things that are the epitome of childhood and innocence. Roger Rabbit has scenes of murder in the background during the train scene, I heard. There's a topless lady in the Rescuers. The priesnt gets a hard-on in the Little Mermaid.

I have to admit, I find this quite hilarious. I mean, seriously, how would kids ever find this out? they wouldn't, well, not at least until they were older. I'm surprised snopes.com didn't mention the Aladdin one.

They mentoned the "good teenagers take off their clothes" thing in Aladdin, and it had sound files too. I watched all the movies they had on their list (I'm sad, I know) and the only really apparent one was the Aladdin thing, but only if you know what to listen for. And the S-E-X thing in The Lion King was there, but really only when you pause your movie at the precise moment and tilt your head and look really hard. Apparently that one was discovered by a five year old. Yew. Sick little five year old. The "hard on" incident with the Little Mermaid is stupid. If you look, you can see it's just the ministers knee. You have to look at the screen shots to understand them. Snopes is an awesome website. That topless lady in the rescuers was real though. It's really bright in the background. Ugh. I was shocked actually, but eh, whatever. Kids don't catch these things unless their that sick little five year old Lion King boy. Ugh....

But if the kids don't understand the subliminal messages, what's the fuss, and if they do, well...I mean, they know it already...

I think its funny. I mean, those things weren't even very obvious, so what's the real harm?

i have to say. this is silly. But Walt disney was on crack. My friend said that the dwarves in sleeping buety(or was it snow white?) were the symptoms of crack. Sleepy, happy, etc. and in the rescuers theirs a naked lady in the back ground

It is fairly weird. But hey, what are they going to do? Go to every house, of every person who ever bought a Disney movie with a "subliminal message" in it, and take them away? No they will not. The damage is done, and it's not like millions of children have noticed these things, or done the things the movies "Tell" them to. I haven't seen ANY good teenagers take of their clothes, have you?

Hehe..these are hilarious. But kind of disturbing that these films we all loved when we were like 4 actually have sexual messages in it..
