something corporate rocks....bright eyes is really emo, you might not like it...but watashi wa and switchfoot are awesome. switchfoot's my favorite. oh, ever heard maroon 5? theyre not really emo, but theyre good!i dont really dress like that pic..i have awesome emo glasses..i really need them. ska is awesome too...like saves the day and less than jake and five iron frenzy. if you like soco, you'll like watashi wa and switchfoot. dude! five iron frenzy all the freakin' way! i don't get the whole 'emo' thing but i love five iron frenzy! are christian bands kinda emoish? cause you listed switchfoot and jars of clay ( love 'em) and delirious (love them too) relient k isn't emo (i'm pretty sure) but they still rock! fear of god could be emoish.... and maybe capstone.....YAY CAPSTONE!!!! |

I myself rather enjoy Saves the Day, Weezer, ect, ect...
And Conor Oberst *is* god-like.
I don't really know if I'm emo. I have emo glasses by accident, and I appearantly look quite emo-ish.
But I wouldn't classify myself as that, because we all know I'm cold, apathetic, and heartless.

No seriously, we've got like a million emo's at my high school, and they're really wierd. Freaky too. I hate the way they dress and do their hair. wierd. They really go all the way.....

Yes, I suppose it's "Emotional Rock". That's what I always thought it was...I wouldn't know though. Not being enveloped in the shrouds of EMO-NESS myself.
And...yes. They're quite pretty. O.o

i never really did get the "emo" genre... people use the term so loosely.. but it's basicly just an offspring of hardcore punk. in my opinion, the perfect example of what "Emo" actually is, are the first two Sunny Day Real Estate albums. Rites Of Spring started it all, but I think SDRE best represent what the sub-genre actually sounds like. Early Jimmy Eat World (up to Clarity) and Far are good examples too. but i guess the problem with emo is the huge influence of weezer's pinkerton (which isnt really emo, but has some of the elements) which blurred the line between emo and pop-punk. so that's why you have salsaty bands played on mtv. here's a obligatory link: www.fourfa.com/i havent read any of that site yet, so it may just say the same thing i did. i guess you could say emo=bad indie rock... |

I know emos like that hard rock or whatever music, i've never actually listened to that stuff, but I've always thought of emo as mentally insane. Well, you must be to actaully dress like that!
Emos do the whole comb over thing. They're like half gothic sorta. I hear some (actually most) slit their wrists for fun. Talk about Disturbed!

That was random. REALLY random... and false.
I downloaded two Bright Eyes songs. They're intense... in a good way... I think.
But I'm on a Magnetic Fields kick right now, so I have the 5 songs of theirs I downloaded playing in constant loop. I'm going to get so sick of them. Must... get... more... so I can ration out the music into non-sickening portions. It's like candy... really good, until it isn't anymore.
