i'm in quite a problem. My parents are Catholic. I used to be Catholic, but I feel that Christian is the way to go. I hate disobeying my parents, it gives me SO MUCH shame and guilt. But I feel that my path lies on Christianity. What should I do. I pretended to be sick this morning so I didn't have to go to church because I have no clue which church to go to on Sundays. What should I do?

Oh, I don't disagree with it, of course not. I just feel, that after four years of being Christian, and for my parents to just shift, is not the way I want to go.

No, Catholic and Christian is way diff. I'm saying, I don't want to disobey my parents by going to Christian churches, but I feel like I should take the Christianity road.

No no, Swans is right (heh). I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Catholisism is a form of Christianity. Are you trying to be a diferent branch of Christianity? Which one?
EDIT: Yes Swans, they are pretty much the same except for minor differences. For example some stand more during mass, one branch beleives in the pope, one doesn't. I'm tired and I don't remember specifics.

You can try to explain it to us. I really don't think it's a big diference from what you're saying. You're parents will be able to accept it, if you explain it to them.

...do you mean you prefer the Protestant church? Because Catholic is a branch of Christianity (anything that believes Jesus died on the cross for sins and that the only way to get to Heaven is through Him is technically Christian).
Also, how old are you? Because that affects things, too. A girl in my church (a Protestant church) has Catholic parents, and they wouldn't let her get baptised in our church. The older people in the church thought it'd be best if she did what her parents wanted until she was 18 (not necessarily believe what they believe, but not get baptised yet and things like that) because parents are responsible for you until then.
I'd suggest talking to your parents about it... maybe even start with something like, "What do you think of ______?" and not say you're interested in it so you could see what their reaction would be. Also, you could ask what they think of certain points in one religion as compared to another.
Sorry if this is more babel than anything else, but I hope it helps, at least a little (if nothing else, to know others go through the same thing).

Thanks, Celinra. Quentin said pretty much the same thing. And to answer your question, I'm 10, soon to be 11. I plan on disscussing it with my rents.

Just tell them. Why do people have such a fear of telling their parents things? Tell them how you feel, and see what they say. Christianity and Catholisicim have the same sort of principles, so it's not like going from Christian to Satainist. Your parents should be fine with it.

Please tell them, for your sake. If they truly care about you, they won't make a fuss. Your beliefs are your personal items to be changed and alterred at your command.
