*sighs* Yes, I have told them. They were a bit shocked at first, that's for sure. They said it's perfectly fine, though. They said they can have my grandmother drop me off at Christian church on Sundays. But thanks for the help, guys. I probably never would have told them if you guys hadn't advised me to. P.S. I'm grounded for a week for fake- sicking last Sunday to avoid going to church.

Well, I suppose that's fair. But they did what any good parent should - respect your faith. You did the right thing.

Yeah, I always knew it was the right thing to do, I was just frightened of what their reaction would be.

What Christian church? What type of religion are you identifying as? As many people have mentioned before, Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. Christianity is the name for a group of religions which believe in Jesus Christ. If you continue going to Catholic church, you will still be attending a Christian church. Your parents are also Christians. Do you want to be Protestant? Baptist? Methodist? Lutheran? Anglican? These are all other branches of Christianity. I just don't understand why your parents would be shocked if you said to them "I'm sorry, I don't agree with your religion, which is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. I'm going to have to go my own way and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ." What is it about Catholicism that you don't like, and which other branch have you chosen?
