I got my DDR game and dance pads from eBay... so from my experience it's safe...

The only bad experience I've ever had with eBay is that the guy who was going to send me a game had it out of stock and accidentally posted his auction by accident, but he refunded my money plus two extra dollars for the inconvenience.

I've found that people only seem to buy from you if you have 100 or more positive feedbacks....not that I've reached that much. But you still get charged fees even if it doesn't sell, so I've found it to be a rip off if you're a seller.
However I find it very useful for buying, and I buy quite a lot of stuff.
