Every time I come into MM, there is always a new thread about old members being unfair and rude to newer members.
I have seen this rudeness myself.
What is a really cool member?
Nobody knows for sure since there is not a good explanation on 667. In one task of The 667 Apprentice, the contestants had to make a complete FAQ on 667.
One team noted that a really cool member was a (And I'm paraphrasing)-
Derogatory word for a new member who is annoying. Most of these annoyances are caused by netspeak and stupid questions etc....
This is all true. However, it projects a negative attitude and prevents a group of members from enjoying 667.
May I remind you of these administrative decrees that strictly go against "really cool member bashing"-
________________________________
It is prohibited to harass a member with unjustified PMs or rudeness. Do not continue to PM members if they tell you to stop. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #7.
Any member who displays unwarranted rudeness, rule breaking, ignorance of warnings, racism, sexism, profanity, or disables a group of people from enjoying 667 will be given strikes and/or banned. This is in accordance with 667 Dark Avenue Administrative Decree #2.

Really, those rules mean that anybody who has bashed a new member should have been given a warning.
However, poor moderatorship and the fact that some new members don't know to report these things have prevented moderators from taking control of this situation.
Even though the rules are there, many members (Since they haven't been warned about it and they see other popular members do it) ignore these rules and bash n00bs anyway.
What does bashing do anyway?
I have observed several new members who have been bashed and they just keep complaining about it - which leads to more bashing. So therefore, the more you bash the more the new members will annoy you.
Also, terms like "STFU really cool member" are overused and very rude. If new members take that seriously, they won't be able to enjoy 667 and feel that they are unwanted and leave.
This prevents them from sharing information and obtaining information. They should be allowed the freedom of speech.
If you really don't want new members to be annoying, you should make it clear to them that we frown upon netspeak and other things like that that are annoying. Instead of bashing them, threatening them, and just telling them to STFU, you should help them out and make their time here enjoyable.
Encourage them to speak out on their opinions and to be an individual.
Would it really kill you to do that?
Would it really kill have the population of 667 to be positive for once and help a person?
Help a member be a better member.
Rid 667 of the n00bs and give 667 members.
As long as I am a moderator, I will give warnings to any member who displays a negative attitude and rudeness toward another members.
