Duchess: I went to my recruiter's office on 9/11. I heard what happened and left work to go enlist. Funny, now that I look back on it. But I digress. It's true that UNICEF and other organizations send help over here. Also true that most of it got taken away from those who needed it before they got it. I just maintain that the U.S. can't be a watchdog for all the nations. I don't want this to turn into another Korea. I am struck by a horrifying similiarity between the way I feel about this and what happened to that young girl in New York all those years ago. Was Kitty her name? That young lady was attacked in broad daylight and stabbed repeatedly while the onlookers gaped or just looked the other way. No one moved to help her and she died. I don't think it's the responsibility of the U.S. to control the bullies of other countries. That's what the UN is for. If it's not important enough for the UN to handle, why are we jumping in? Something must be done, but what is that something? I wish Kitty wouldn't have died, though. I'm sure she'd have something to say about this.

I don't like war, and I don't think it is necessary UNLESS you're dealing with a madman, and he is forcing you to play his game. Good point. Such people include Hitler, Napolean...all good reasons to go to war. But notice we only entered WWII when we were bombed at Pearl Harbor. That's important.

No kidding. It's funny how you think of history as the past, and how 9-11 will be in almost all American textbooks in a good 20 years...
