I never thought he was hot... but then again... I have a weird taste in guys, too. I'm more for the long haired artsy/geeky types, so... yeah. But anyway... I was actually talking to my friends about this awhile ago, so here's what we concluded:
It's okay to have relationships completely based on physical appearances and attraction and lust: AS LONG AS IT'S CLEARLY ESTABLISHED.Things get seriously screwed up if someone's in a relationship just for sex/physicality (I guess this is a forum about a kids book so maybe sex doesn't apply...) and the other person actually wants a healthy relationship (although it does depend how you define healthy). But there are people who just want to have fun and hook up with people and be "friends with benefits" or whatever. They're not looking for good relationships that go farther than physical attraction... and that's fine, as long as it's mutual. Then again, both people have to be up to it, and they have to actually agree, and not have one person left feeling abandonned when they break up.
But still, to a certain extent, emotions will mix themselves up in a relationship no matter if you want them to or not, so I doubt it works as well as it sounds like it should... I don't know firsthand, so...

I can see the logic in that decision. OK, I suppose under those terms, it is OK.
